I like the idea of a site members can go to for information if something should cause BN to go offline. When a website or forum goes away, or even crashes for a short time, there's always much confusion about what happened and if it's permanent. So I resurrected the old Yahoo Group that was the foundation for BuggyNews. I don't intend for this Yahoo forum to get much traffic and besides, Yahoo Groups are WAY too limited to replace this forum. I did this just so there would be a place you could bookmark to return to for information. So like they say in the emergency broadcast spots on the radio
"In the event of an emergency tune in to this station for official news and information"
I've adjusted the group settings so posts aren't moderated as I don't have the time to approve messages every day. This may allow some spam or porn in the door--PM me if this happens & I'll delete the messages ASAP. You do not need to join the group to view messages but you do to post. I leave it up to you guys whether you want to say anything there or not.
Members who weren't here 3 1/2 years ago might get a kick out of viewing the old posts & pictures of those who were
Is there anyway for you or Jamie to get your hands on an email list. Not for you to give out, but for you as moderators to contact the individuals if needed. For example if (and I say if, cause I know you guys are on it) the site goes down, you guys can send a blanket email to the members, to direct us to the alternate site(s)?
Just an idea to COA (cover our butts). _________________ Baja Dune 150

I was thinking the same exact thing, even mentioned it to a few other members on the Phone. If we can get the members to join this original board then if something happens here, we have a place to land and get info from... I am already on the forum, I think I was one of the first. It is stressful using it compared to BN, but again, it is just a place for now so that we can all touch base and keep each other posted until this is all worked out with BN..
I have been getting tons of calls about the BN happenings forthe last few day's and I will start nundging people to sign up..

Seems like that Yahoo Group had been around longer than that, too. The Yerf GX150 Group has been around since '03 and yerfdogoffroadcarts in '01! I joined those in '04 and met Steve there. There were several brand-specific groups & forums as well as builder groups but nothing as broad in scope as the CORB group, and BuggyNews soon after. Think about that. In all the World Wide Web is there ANY other buggy forum that tries to be a resource to ALL owners of import buggies? BN stands alone. It must continue and one way or another it will. _________________ _________________

Some of those old posts over there are cool to read.
The need to contact BNews Members en-mase` was the reason I created the NorthEastBuggy "gang". I was looking for a place to ride here in the Northeast and wanted to contact all of the BNews members within that area. I contacted Steve to find out if there was a way to strip the location information out of each users profile.
Steve said nope and I went to work developing, by hand a list of all of the users in my region. I went through all 5000+ member profiles and started making friends with my Buggy "neighbors".
My rambling point is that it's not easy to keep track of that type of information. The Yahoo Group is another way to keep track of this... At some point the administration of BuggyNews may want to think about having another server available for our use.
In a short time frame I may be able to offer some server space as a backup....
Long live BuggyNews... _________________ Chris Dierkens
