Has anyone out there had a problem with distributors on a 650?
The buggy has around 2 hours running, but twice now has stopped and upon checking the timing is about 15 degrees out??? Could this be from a tight oil pump causing it to jump teeth??The oil pump seems firm but not tight.Maybe some of you 650 gurus can help,by the way this distributor is brand new(was replaced after first event). Thanks AndyMc

hi tuk tuk amer the taxi cab guys , use the same engine are saying the drive gear for the dist. on the oil pump is brass aloy. They are exper. missimg teeth and now have a steel aloy replacment gear. You will have to tear the motor down so be very sure this is your problem. I have a couple 650 dist. ive noticed that one has a lot more top to bottom play than the other, but not enough to jump teeth. As far as tight oil pump thats possible. Let me know how or if you solved this problem. Ghosthunter
