Literally after months of waiting, I got my new performance exhaust for the HH250. This is the same custom pipe that ATL Top Dog and Steeda have. It was made by Extreme Fabrication out of Idaho, I believe. I got mine from Bill at Hammerhead Canada after months of trying to get one directly from the builder. It's a very nice pipe and was designed for this buggy. It's much less restricted. I made a couple WOT runs on the gravel road by the garage and hit 47mph, where I normally only got up to 45. Also left some black marks on the garage floor in reverse. Very Happy It didn't do that before. Here's some pics.

Looks nice. Will it handle a bigger main jet now?

That's what I'm thinking. I didn't have the time to put in a new plug, do some runs, and check the plug. But, it did seem like it hit a wall around 35mph. There was no sputter or anything like that, it kind of bogged a little bit and the acceleration dropped off and then took a while to get up to top speed. I have a 132.5 jet in there right now, on the 32mm MRP pumper carb. You would think that a less restrictive exhaust would mean I can go up in main jet size. Maybe I need to port/polish the head??? Whaddya think?

My goal is, and has been, to get up to 50 mph. Once I hit 50, I think I'll be satisfied. I needed to get some kind of exhaust anyway, as the stock one had rattled itself loose.

Yep, I bet you can go up several sizes. Port and polish, sounds like a good winter project. Cool

Looks good! But it is different than mine. Mine has a bracket welded to the silencer so I don't have to use a clamp. It's probably the same on the inside. Mine doesn't have the hammerhead logo on it either.

I can hit 51mph. I'm running 17 gram sliders, 130 main jet on stock carb and have 22" holeshots on the rear.

I am porting and polishing my head today, so I might be able to hit 55mph after that.

Sorry for the High JAck, I got the head off and the intake looks great no porting required just a little smoothing out. The exhaust could use a little grinding to open her up, so we are doing that now.

Take some pics!!!

So, you think that exhaust is made by the same guy? John said he sold some to a dealer in Canada, so I assumed it was the same guy. Also, that pipe is about 1/8" from the right rear spring. Is yours that close?

With just dr pulley 21 gram sliders and that performance pack...muffler, intake and jets my bros hammerhead does 54 mph.

It would be VERY difficult to beat the flow of that muffler its not restricted at all straight through design outlet is as wide as the internal pipe.

Mufflers do not cause a need for Jetting.
The increased efficiency on the exhaust side makes the intake side less "taxed" or restricted so assuming the intake was Not getting the full flow that was available on the intake side sure you could use a bigger jet. Basically what i mean if you still use the factory airbox a aftermarket muffler will probably just be a noise maker and larger jets are unnecessary. But in your case i believe you have a uni so yes up the jets. (need more air to require more fuel)

The muffler isnt quiet but man tuned right it sure goes!
I have the video on you tube if you want to check it out its the blue hammerhead all it has is 21 gram dr pulley sliders and the performance package from hammerhead. Air filter, jets, exhaust. The orange hammerhead is completely stock (in the video) and only runs 47 mph i believe. 47-54 miles per hour is a big jump and accelerates alot faster as the videos show. With package takes 11 seconds to 40 mph without takes 18 seconds.
