Does anyone have any info. on the Manco Quantum? I am getting ready to make a purchase and I have 3 choices:
1. Dazon Raider 150
2. Hammerhead Twister 150
3. Manco Quantum 150
I have read up on the Dazon and Twister which seem pretty comparable but nothing on the Manco. It looks like a nice buggy but we all know how that goes. There is a Tractor Supply near me that had one on clearance. The guy who worked there told me someone bought it and returned it the same day becasue it overheated. They had a new oil cooler to install but never did so it was on clearance. Then they were going to bring in one from another store that had 2 in stock. The next time I went the guy told me he couldn't get them running so he never brought them. I getting a bad vibe so far from the Manco but any direct experience would be appreciated.
after looking at pictures and specs on the quantum it seems to be the same buggy as the manco/american sportworks carbide sold through tracter supply my dad bought one and took it back after only 3 days because a short in the wires coming off the battery caused an electrical fire and 3 others went back for the same reason but even after that my dad is thinking of trying another one up side is great power for the little 150 engine and even though the seat belts are 3 point instead of 4 they work very well i personnally like the looks of it and its a gy6 engine meaning with the exception of the performance cdi there are a lot of mods for it but on the down side not much ground clearance under the rear axel bigger tires would be the only fix to this and the front end sticks our too far past the front tires causing it to hit and in some cases dif in when takeing it through a good dip in the trail if you have a local tsc to get it from however they are great at returns and for warranty work our local tsc sends them to a service center that is within my state and from what i hear they are good for the warrenty service good luck on what you decide and keep us informed

Thanks for your response Frank. you make some very good points. I hadn't noticed the front end and the clearance you mentioned. I noticed you have a Twister. Would you recommend that of the three I mentioned?
The twister 150 and the dazon 150 are good buggies. I believe the dazon uses a little different head design and some parts, exa. aftermarket exhaust, won't fit. Just a heads up, some of the guys on here have had bad experiences with dazon parts and service through Gander Mountain. I've still got my 150 twister that I bought before I started selling Blades. The Blade 150 is also a nice buggy and it's a little more roomier. _________________ Steele's Powersports

my twister is the single speed 250 so far ive had no real probs out of it my rear fender brackets broke but tj did replace them under warenty so i have to commend them for that my twister is the reason my dad wants a buggy he has been a quad man for the last 18 years but after the few mods ive put on my twister i can keep up with and go up any hill my dad can on the 250 polaris that he has been rideing in addition my mom who no longer gets around so well can get in the buggy easily but can no longer climb onto a 4 wheeler so i let him borrow my twister to take mom for a ride and they are both hooked on buggies both my dad and myself wassssnt sure the 150 would have enough power out of the box to do much of anything but i have to admit that little carbide suprized us both the shocks on the one he got could have been adjusted up another 1/2 inch which may help keep that front end from bumbing in the dip as much but under the back axel there is a barcoming down from the engine craddle a rough messurement you only have 4 inches of clearance on flat ground larger tires would bring it up as far as the twister i think it comes with the larger tires the carbide has 21/19/10 check to make sure but i think the twister has 22s and be sure to look under the rear axel on which ever one you choose the bar serves to protect the rear sparket and brake just make sure it gives you enough clearance so when you are stradleing ruts while going through a mud hole if you slip off that bar wont keep your tires from makeing contact and loose all your traction

We have one of the TSC Manco 7150 karts and like it very much. From what I have compared, the 7150 is very very close to a Twister Hammerhead GT200 in many mechanical ways. The oil cooler, the braking system, (spec) tires, digital dash, seat pattern, DC wired CDI - even our engine says "2008 TJ Powersports" on it. Many specifications match exactly.
Anyway, we've modded the motor a bit, and are having fun making more changes. It's been driven about 200 miles according to our odometer. We had one problem, which may have been caused by me leaving an exposed wire in the box-of-wiring. This caused me to replace the stator and voltage rectifier.
I like the looks of the kart, and it's definitely of a "Twister" level of decent Chinese built quality - if you know what I mean.
What else would you like to know? I would be happy to talk more about it. _________________ American Sportworks 7150 & Lance Charger 150 --:The Other Buggies:-- "Um yes, these are modified, why?"
BVROC, Thanks for the info. Is there some kind of guard that protects the chain and rear disc brakes? I would be worried that it would take some abuse without some protection.

Thanks a bunch!!!
Yes, there is a guard on the bottom and back which curves down around the bottom of the gears and brake disc while going back up around so that no part of the chain is directly exposed to the back - I suppose so things don't get caught up in it as you reverse.
I could take a picture of it if you would like to see...? _________________ American Sportworks 7150 & Lance Charger 150 --:The Other Buggies:-- "Um yes, these are modified, why?"
A few days ago I took the plunge and purchased a Twister 150. There were several reasons why I decided on the Twister. One reason was because I was getting the impression that the Manco was VERY similar to the Twister as you said. The Tractor Supply couldn't tell me when the Quantum would be in stock. I found a Hammerhead dealer 20 minutes from my house.
I would still like to see your pictures though!!!!
