Just finished assembly on new hurricane 250 and have issues. Starts and idles fine but will not go past 5 mph then starts to bog down. I have checked jets, float, diaphragm, plug looks a little lean, petcock clear,no leaks in fuel lines, in line filter ok, or carb boot. It appears to me that the longer I run it the less fuel there is in the inline fuel filter then it bogs down and eventually dies.(It should always be full right?) Fuel starvation? Air fuel mix? Looking for any help at all I am out of GUESSES and really frustrated since Ive had this thing together for 3 days now and all my 18mo daughter can say is daddy?---buggy---ride ride
There might be a in the tank screen thats pluged up,
check that, check your tank inside for crud that might
be retricting gas flow. _________________ 05 Blade SX-550 Suzuki

One time there was a microscopic peice of trash from my tank blocking one of my jets. It would start and idle all day, but bog down and dye out as soon as I would give it gas.
second time I had a loose wire connection from the wire that comes up out of the engine behind the flywheel. I traced it to a 4-pin connector in the electric box and found a loose wire going into the connector by barely pulling on the wires.
I pushed it in tight and it ran great after that.
the same thing I could start and idle all day but when I would take off it would shake the loose conncetion and bog down about 5mph.
Also make sure your gas lines and vacuum hoses are connected right.
Thanks for reply. Now I have buggy running great almost perfect except now after about 10 min if really hard riding the fuel level in fuel filter gets less and less untill there is none. The fuel line feels taught like its pressurized. If I let it set for 10-20 min it fills back up. I have checked the fuel tank and petcock screens several times and even bored the petcock out about 3-64ths. Is it possible for something in or on the carb to be malfunctioning? I have aslo checked to see that gas cap vent is functioning properly. Completly lost to cause of fuel prob. Thanks for all suggestions.
check under the fuel cap for three small screws, remove them and the check ball thats in there snd see if does better _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's, ams (manco) , joyner, parts for almost anything
