Well, after 3 years of owning 3 karts, I finally snapped. I run an auto auction, so it was easy. I got tired of constantly repairing, so I hauled the karts up to the auction. I actually hadn't decided what I was going to do. i was talking with a guy about coming to look at them to fix them. Then right before my sale this week. A customer asked me about them. I told them they were all 3 mine, and were not in the auction. He asked me what I would take for them. I said I thought $1000 each was fair. He reached in his pocket, and laid 30 $100 bills on me.
So i had to break it to the kids. (These were Christmas presents a few years ago). So, here's my questions;
Are the new karts more dependable? I'm thiking about a 250cc with independent rear suspension. And maybe a 150 as well.
I'm starting to wonder that if I don't buy something made by the big brands (Honda, Yamaha, Polaris, etc) I'm gonna be working on it all the time.

Yes if you want better you better get the top name.If you get these karts you gonna have to do some wrenching all the time.I still have a Yerf Dog and have not had hardly any trouble.My kids are ypung and do not abuse it.I'm sure when my boy gets older it will get worse.But from watching on multiple forums even the better karts than the Yerf's seem to all have some sort of trouble and have constant problems.But if you like to tinker with them they are cool to have. That's a good question. It seems like you had decent carts, at least from a buggy manufacturer standpoint. I haven't had any real problems with my HH250, other than breaking off rear fenders. Mechanically it runs pretty well. I think the Joyners are good machines. I liked my Carter Talon, too, but little things do break on them. I never had any major issues with the Carter. The muffler on my HH250 has shaken itself loose, but that's probably because I tinkered with it. Maybe a UTV would suit your needs better. I don't know, but good luck with whatever you decide. _________________ Ron

the newer karts are some what better than the older ones, but if its mechanical and we ride the crap out of it then there will always be little stuff to fix. _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's, ams (manco) , joyner, parts for almost anything

I have 2 150's that are 2004's and have not had any major problems out of them,and these are ridden hard.True they had minor bugs with them at first but after correcting them for the money I paid for them they have performed great,about three months after I purchased them I started selling them and I have had none come back with any major problems in fact minor problems have been minimal.All you have to do is maintenance and your good. I have owned a couple buggies, all chinese, and all of them at some point, requiring repairs of some kind. I have a heavily modified buggy that is running really well, but still has it's bouts with the gremlins!!!
My wife and I just bought her a Baja Reaction 150, and immediately out of the box, we managed to damage the a-arms on the right side, without knowing how!!!! I assume a large rock or large tree stump, but I have no clue. it was repaired pretty easily, but no matter where you look for a buggy, you are going to have to fix something at some point, no matter what your riding style is like!!!
I would love to get a Joyner, but I just feel they are too heavy for the motor they are getting... The 250 is only 14-16 HP tops modified... At 700-800 lbs, with no rider in it yet, it just seems like a loss from the start...
I am saving pennies every single day, with the hopes that in a year, that RZR will be rolling down my driveway!!!
If you go, go big... Get a name brand, and get something that has TONS of support if you are picky.
If you can wrench, and you dont mind a hiccup here and there, get a twister or carter... They are worth it from what I have seen!
