If you have a newer HH 250ss they have been getting factory flaws on the rear swing arm. Most of the time they catch them before they leave the shop but not always.

Here is a picture of the problem.

The mount for the rear stabalizer bar is mounted about 3 inches too far towards the engine with compression it will punch a hole in the cover.
We have 2 250ss's and one is correctly mounted and one -- does this.
My dealer was very good about it and is going to reweld it properly for me and has given me a new cover. I just thought i would make people aware of the problem in the manufacturing.

This is a warranty claim if you still have warranty.

Yep. That's been a known problem for quite a few of us. Mine didn't quite wear a hole in the cover, just gouged it. There's a thread on this somewhere. Glad that your dealer took care of it.

How do you like that carb? I am going to test one soon.

It's alright. It's more responsive than the stock carb. I don't know if I'd recommend it, considering it was $200. I'd really like to see how it responds with a better exhaust.

Soxy, I'm glad you said that. I have the Hit clutch, and I like it, but for the price I don't think I would recommend it, mainly because of the price. I feel that the mfgs of these aftermarket, 250cc, performance part might look at repricing. If not those products will sit on the shelf due to return performance versus invested dollars. At the present time I'm not considering anymore mods on my 250. As a matter of fact I have my white torque spring shimmed. I don't recommend this, but it's an option. After installing the stiffest clutch spring my clutch engaged at about 4000rpms according to my tach. With the cvt cover off I could see that my belt moved between 3/4" to 1' down the clutch, wich basically felt like starting off in 2nd gear. Once I put the 5/16 shimm in I got much better power and when in low, from a stand still I got some tire spin ( on dirt) and great torque.

Good info I tested that idea the other day .. High rpm clutch engagement if variator has already moved before clutch engages. Basically what it boils down too is in theory the lighter the weight the better chance variator stays in low gear before engagement. Using sliders will help keep it in low gear too.

Exactly, I'm running 15g sliders. With that combo I can climb some pretty big hills from a dead stop. Think about it at 4000rpms your rpms are 73% to reach max torque. Worth trying if you climb alot of hills.

Exactly, I think too many people buy into the placebo of the performance parts and assume .. . It must be better or faster instead of understanding the math behind how the parts work.

My Dealer went out of business about a month after we bought ours! I have this problem on 2 out of the 3 buggys we bought. The scoring along the case is already visible. What are my options?

You can contact tj power sports in the United States they are the distributor for the US. Let them know what has happened and they should take care of you.
If they are unwilling to send you the correct rear stabaliser your going to have to get the "eyelet" re welded further towards the wheel. They should send you a new cover but its not really necessary if its not penetrated yet. But hey if its a new machine they should replace it under warranty. If they wont help you let me know and i will see what i can do. If you end up changing out the whole rear i would replace the factory chinease bearings with better ones or imo your going to have to rip it apart a second time soon enough anyways to replace them. Within 500 miles i have had about 3-4 bad bearings... I may have not known they where toast if i had not taken it apart though.
