I HEARD of someone being offered a deal at $4000 out the door. But that was at the same dealership where MY $4000 GTR 300 turned into a $6000 GTR 300 after handling and freight charges. Here in California these things are going anywhere from high $5's to low $6's. It's an expensive buggy and I've yet to see the $4500 price tag that was expected before release. That being said....It's worth the money. Best engine, best warranty, good, solid construction, some of the best support available.

You will hear many on here who claim anything over $2000 is a ripoff, but I would rather spend a little more up front and be able to actualy enjoy my buggy when I go out, than go cheap and end up wrenching on my buggy every single time.

Thanks for the reply! I went to get my 300 Saturday. It is actually for my son, but he will not run it for another season or two. In the mean time I'll drive (Darn!). I got out the door for $4520.00 after tax. However it has 70 demo miles, but full warranty. We rode it all weekend. My son never stopped smiling, a lot of fun.I feel the same way, I looked at the buggies for two weeks, and read these forums as a silent listener, and decided on it due to the reputation, parts, and user feed back. Im a motorsports guy, but Im new to the buggy interest. I have in other sports opted to go cheaper and it bit me EVERY time. Even at 300cc it's torquey but not obnoxiously fast. I nice family friendly deal.
Now, as far as a review goes it's too early. My first impression is the turning radius is an issue. I will do the mod. described in this forum. Carter needs to rethink the geometry a bit. head lights may need some protecting, they hang out in front a little just asking for a branch to bust them. plenty of Zerk fittings for greasing. A bit more refined and detailed than the cheaper stuff. But hey if ya wanted it all you can always blow $11,000.00 on a RZR like I almost did. For the cash it seems so far to be a real neat deal.

That wide rear end affects turning. I think they were trying to alleviate the tendency these buggies have to roll over in higher speed turns, because typically the rear wheels sit closer than the front. Also.....well, it just makes it look meaner.

Yea, I agree. I have actually just about caught a few trees with the rear tire already.... kinda reminds me of my old 200x 3 wheeler back in the day. I caught a few on that thing and went for a ride.
The buggie likes to back fire a bit when you shut it off. Don't know why, maybe I'll try better octane and see if it goes away. The fuel that was in it when I picked it up is still what Im running with, I noticed the manual wanted 92 octane or better.

Yea, I found those too. They are 250cc, not the 300's. Also called out there and they had no 300s, and of course promised to call me back with a cost and availability of a 300. As 5 other dealers also they did not call back. Gotta love that. So the only responsive dealer I found got the $4,520.00. Business must be so good you can just not respond to a new customer with a price. Im in business for myself, and if I operated that way I'd go out of business.Mcquire's Automotive was the dealer who actually responded and called back when they said they would.

On the octane, the GTR requires 91 or 92 octane. That's what we run and we get no backfiring. A lot of OHVs really recommend high octane fuel. $4520 is a great deal. There are a few key mods you can get for this buggy. The Dr Pulley hit clutch and the MRP carb are a good start. Altho, that buggy is pretty fast for a mini buggy to begin with.
