if u had a transmission like a dirt bike or atv with 4 or 5 gears on a 250 buggy like joyner 250 or carter etc.. wouldnt u go a hell of alot faster?

You could probably climb better, because you could keep the rpms in the power band easier, but the cvt transmission doesnt use much more power than a manual tranny and the final drive ratio should be about the same. So no, top speed should be the same all things being equal.
