Tom,
I got the petcock yesterday (July eighteen). I just installed it and the kart is running. It idles good but it jerks a little while it's running. I hope it goes away. By the way I sent you the check Tom, thanks for your assistance.

Okay, here we go again. It's not running smooth. It idles fine but once you get going the kart starts to jerk like it lacks fuel. It does not shut off but runs sluggish. Any suggestions on where to start looking for the problem. Could it be that the gas may require an octane booster, I am lost on this one.

franky it sounds like you have gotten a piece of dirt or junk in one of your carburetor jets.
are you running a fuel filter don't trust that little screen filter on the petcock.
what kind of 150 buggy do you have that helps some to when passing info

The kart does have a line fuel filter but it does not seem to be very high quality. The kart is a Chinese 150cc CVT kart that does not have a name brand. It was running fine but as I took up to higher elevation it started to give me problems. I think the elevation was just a coincidence.
I am looking into getting a uni filter but not sure what jet I would have to replace the original with. I'm also thinking about making some adjustments to exhaust either drilling the inside or gutting it out. Any advise on this, and does it help any.

ok if you don't think it is carb check your coil wires in electrical box were they plug on coil,i don't think there is one of us that hasn't had to tighten them up
on the jets in the carb it don't take but the tinyest little piece of dirt to cause you problems.when you put gas line back on is gas filter turn the wright way for gas flow.
here is another thing to check is your rubber intake for cracks or leaks, didn't get a week out of my first rubber intake.it was a new out of the crate buggy.
heck yes it helps, you can bring out the beast in your buggy
with the uni filter and drilling out the exhaust and this is just a GUESS 122, 125,or a 127 at your elevation thats my guess.
gutting exhaust even a bigger jet from what i have read, didn't gut mine.

I am going to check the all the items you pointed out, and will get back to you on the results. On those jets will either one of them work?

franky i don't know what brand your buggy is and some of them come with better exhaust and jetted better.for example this sunl 150b came with a 105 main jet and the exhaust was really restricted.then you see and read that other guys buggys come with a little better exhausts and jetted a 114 main jet stock.
if it was me and you just drill out exhaust i would start with a 125 jet see how it runs and do a plug read if it is to rich drop down to the 122.if to lean go up to the 127 jet, some times its just trial and error to get the wright air fuel mixture, but i think the 125 should get you in the ball park.
maybe others will share there opinions on this to.

yes there should be a number on the main jet either on the end or the side.not sure about your pilot jet but you shouldn't have to worry about that one.
if you clean carb make sure you take both of them out and clean them good.
