There is, I didn't know it until I took it apart trying to see why it was so hard to shift into reverse. I lubed it up real good and sometimes it would stick, so I followed the cable and sure 'nuff, it went to the brake. You're supposed to push in the brake to release a pin inside the shifter allowing you to shift. It was out of adjustment so it wasn't working right. I'm going to adjust it because sometimes my nephew rides the buggy and I don't know if he'd try slamming it into gear on the go or not Very Happy

Never really paid attention to that. I'll have to get back to you with an answer. Soxy with the plug and 32 carb what kind of top speed do you get? Really would like to know what your pre carb speed was and your post carb speed. I just installed a Hit cluth, and I like my acceleration, top speed is less than impressive. I think some of that can be attributed to the weight of the Joyner.

The good thing about the top line 250's is you don't have to do a million mods, they cost alot more. but when it's all said and done I don't think the total will be much different from the 150cc.

I've never GPS'd my top speed, but according to the speedo, I'm around 45-46 on a flat gravel road. I calibrated my speedo riding next to a Honda ATV, for whatever that's worth.

I don't think I lost any top speed, or gained any for that matter. Its got more punch in acceleration, most likely due to the pumper. I think I need to get a better exhaust. The Joyner exhaust looks like it's better quality than the Hammerhead exhaust. The one I want is $350, though, and that's a chunk of money.

That's pretty good, I could see that being 50mph on asphalt.
I'm trying to find mod that will increase speed and acceleration, so I'm considering a carb. right now I'm at 40mph (1/4 mile) and I'm not exactly sure how far I need to tralvel to reach max speed. Thanks for the info.

Eggyhed put the 32mm pumper carb on his Joyner, you may want to PM him to see what kind of increase he saw. I think he may have ported and polished the head, but I don't know what top speed he got. Hope that helps.
