I just bought a 2008 GK-BMS Power Buggy 800cc fuel injected 3 cyclinder and when the engine gets around 5000rpms the power cuts out and sputters. The gauges say the engine redlines at 9000rmp is this right? Or is the engine sputtering out because I'm running it too hard? I've been trying to take it easy because of grinding in the motor but I do not think its running like it should. There is also a hesitation when you punch on the gas while it is idling or first taking off. It takes a second for the engine to catch up and then it revs. I changed spark plugs to NGK and put dielectric lubricant on the wires and plugs as I read in other posts it has been a problem. No difference in performance. Is it starving for air? Should I take the plastic cover off the aircleaner? Should a K&N air cleaner be next? What about a fuel pump mentioned in another post by bcoorough? --> http://www.buggynews.com/topic14088.html If so can I get these parts at the local autoparts store. I had a hard time finding anything other than sparkplugs for the motor. Looked for a better distributor cap and wires and I did not have any luck. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance. I put the link below where I bought my buggy with the specs if this might help troubleshoot.
