Hey everyone I have the engine apart again Rolling Eyes to replace/ fix my crankshaft. I am considering adding a stroker but to buy a stroker crank it would cost $170 as compared to a $70 stock crank. My question is this.... If I buy the stroker crank, will it give me more power/top end speed as compared to a FMF POWERCORE exhaust from Blade, (the chrome pipe with a bend is out of my price range). I realize the stroker would give me more displacement and torque, but would the less constricted 170cc be able to beat a stroked and bored out gy6 (with stock exhaust) in a top speed race? I can't help but lean to the stroker crank because the engine is already apart and if I go that route the exhaust could be changed later on with less hassle.... Confused Sorry to ramble on but I have to know soon because I need to get it running one way or another before I take it to the dunes for my b-day. Smile

Normally, I would say a stroker is too much work. However, you have to replace the crank, so why not put in a performance part. Check out BuggyDepot.com - They have a stroker plus install tips.

Go for the stroking crank, you can do an exhaust at any other time.

i think if you just do the crank your only going to get like 5cc's more, if you do a big bore on top of that, it would be 175cc or so.

Plus, forged internals = nitrous time, hit it with a 35 shot Laughing

Hey I have been a member on here for some years now and for some reason when I try to log on with my old account (Marble) it says it is an inactive account. I am almost positive that it is because I changed the email address so that I would receive notifications instead of my dad. Jabo, or anyone that can help me, if your reading this can you help me out with this logging in issue......

go with the stroker crank and add a 4 valve head and you will run circles around a 250 trust me the boy still laughs like crazy when he comes blowing by me.

Allbones that's sweet that he beats you that bad. Laughing Any idea what his top speed is? I would love nothing more than to add a 4-valve head to my blade, but the thing is, is that they are just too dang exspensive for me. Crying or Very sad

The stroker will greatly improve performance and since your in the case I would go with one but I would also do the exhaust since your creating more power with the big bore and with or without the stroker you will be wasting that power with the stock exhaust. TOM

I agee with tom , the engine must be able to breath.Since u
have the engine apart put the good stuff in!stroker/big bore/
piston/rings etc If I did a 170 again I would split the case and add
a stroker crank(I did a 170 without even removing the engine
but thats another story) .With all that u have let the engine
breath! Cant push an elephant thru a key hole.
