sweet... i am going to try and give my buggy a hot run to squeeze a top speed out... Gotta change the filter and plug, but other than that, this thing is SMOKIN!!!!
Hurry John I know you have a cam. I'm contemplating buying one but unsure of the added benifits.
I know this post said list top speed, I listed my 1/4 mile speed. When I'm out riding It's rare for me to go faster than my 1/8 mile speed appox. 25-27. So if I do any more engine mods this is really the number I want to increase. Any suggestions?

I have the A12 cam which can be called a "utility cam, since it is pretty much in between the max torque cam, and the max HP cam... A8-A14. I was going for the max of both, and the A12 cam highest in recommendations from MRP, Kidnme, and a few other people on the boards. I have gotten into some trouble a few months back when I went waaaaay too low for sliders (9g), and lost all my top speed, maxing out at 27 or 28ish...), then I went to 12g sliders, and was still unimpressed. I got in to the Dr. Pulley promo and it came with 9g rollers, and that made a HUGE difference in speed. I can launch up hills, and still hit a pretty reasonable top speed without others cathing up... pretty neat how something so simple has such a HUGE effect.
As to reference the cam, if you are looking for top speed and not too many hill climbs in your future buggy riding experience, I would go with the A14 all the way... if you have moderate hills to some decent ones, but still want to hit that 40mph, I would go A12 or A10... that way, you still get that torque, and can back it up with the ponies and some CVT adjustments.
John -
I think anything over A10 is considered torque tuned verses the lower numbers that are horsepower tuned. The A9 or A10 seems to be in the middle of both tuning. If you have references to the contrary, please post them. My A12 cam definitely inhibits top end RPM and horsepower for low end torque. _________________ 08 Joyner SandViper 250

hey does anyone know what the rev limit is on these 150's? When I tested my top speed with 9 gram rollers i was screaming down the road at 43 but my revs were somewhere around 9000. I think the stock rollers that I put back in will help my speed out alot. Oh that's another question I had... what is the weight of the stock rollers for these buggies?
I'm not convinced any of the 150 CDI boxes have a limiter. Anyone know for sure?
I rarely rev mine that high, so I don't think the limiter would make a difference in my application. However, I can feel a difference in the timing curve between black and red CDIs - I just cannot quantify how much of a change it really is. _________________ 08 Joyner SandViper 250
