Does anyone out there know, if the battery on a regular 150cc go kart gets charged while the kart is running. I know that the kart does not have an alternator, so I am wondering if the battery runs dry if you use the headlights while the kart is running. I was told by the company that I purchased the kart from that the battery gets recharged if the voltage regular is working properly. I was under the impression that the voltage regulator did not serve as a battery charger. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
The 150cc buggies have a stator that creates AC voltage. This is what you equate to an alternator. There is a dedicated tap that runs the ignition system and the lights run directly off the stator AC voltage. The AC is also routed to the regulator/rectifier that converts it to DC voltage and charges the battery. _________________ 08 Joyner SViper 250
