Hi there! Ive recently ordered a new Twister Hammerhead 150SS that should arrive Thurs or Fri. This is my first build of one of these buggies. I am pretty mechanically inclined, Ive got a John Deer 4020 tractor tore down in the barn now.

I know I need to change the cheap Chinese fluids out of the engine and lock-tite the bolts and screws., My question is do I need to tear down every bolt and apply lock-tite or just the ones Im putting in to finish out the kart? Also Ill take any advice for making building these things out of a crate a bit easier.

Great site cant wait to post a few pics of the buggy.

welcome to buggynews, do the ones you have to install, then check all the rest. I would run the oils for about 2 weeks then change them out.

the engine oil does have some properties to help the rings seal.

I wouldn't put lock-tite directly on the threads. It can make it difficult to get things apart later on. Tighten the bolt, then put a dab of locktite around the head (or nut, if applicable). It doesn't take much to do the job.

Ah that makes sense, I was wondering about that. Thanks for the tip.
