Ok after spending a whole lot of time welding my Crossfire & Dazon back together I have come to the realization that I am too fat for how I drive & my buggies do not have enough suspension travel to keep my butt from bottoming out the buggies. So the crossfire is going to be the wife & kids 2 seater & I am going put another one together out of what is left of the Dazon.

This weekend I picked up an older frame that was never used & is styled after a sand rail but is only 8 ft long.

I then picked up a full set of rims & tires for a Rhino which are new pull offs.

The tires are 25x8x12 front and 25x10x12 for the rear.

Since it will be higher than usaul I am going to make it wider, much wider so as to allow for lots of travel.

So what I am starting with is the frame & tires pictured below & a Dazon 150 single seater.

So far what I have laid out is 8' long & 65" wide. I will start out with the engine from the Dazon but will probably end up with a 250cc quad motor with reverse built in.

I will do a jack shaft in the rear to power it with the brakes on the jack shaft leading down to independant rear suspension, this way changing motors will be easier in the future.

Any way here are some pictures & please do hesitate to give ideas Smile

Hey 1500.net I know you said reverse, but I'll throw this out. Looking on the local Craig list (lv, nv) some one selling a 1983 Arctic cat snowmobile 650cc, with 210 miles. How a snowmobile ended up in Las Vegas is beyond me, but it would explain the 210 miles. Good luck on your build.

Greg

Yeah my hope is to bring it the bash!

I had thought about a powerful motor & have available for under $500 a 650cc, 750cc, 1100cc & a 1300cc but I want to do this to be fun & considering my driving style I think anything above a 250-300cc would mean death.

I do know I am going to have to regear considering the tire size I now have to deal with. Where is the best place online to get sprockets for #50/530 chain for these buggies? I will use the factory axle cut off at the bearings as the jack shaft since it has the sprocket & brake already.

I might have a 300cc suzuki atv engine with a seperate f/r gear box, and the rear swing arm. that would give you power plus reverse
