If anyone has any suggestions or think they could help please let me know. I think the only thing I can do it take EmrockATV to small claims.
READER DIGEST VERSION:
On the day I picked up the buggy (4-11-2008) they had to use starter fluid to get it started and it ran rough. The first time I backed it out of the shop it skipped/hopped a little and I asked if that was o.k. and Greg (owner) said yes. I noticed there was a plug in the tire and Greg said that it happened during shipping and all buggies have little problems. The owner told me to bring the buggy home and run it and clean out the carb. I got the buggy home and in two weeks I only got it started once. On the first ride and about the 3rd time it was put into reverse it made a loud clunk and it came out of gear. It wouldn't go into reverse again. Kinroad sent me a new carb and it ran good. I brought the buggy back to Emrock and they re-adjusted the reverse and put a new strap where the carb goes into the intake. On the next ride it came out of reverse again, and the carb fell off the intake. I adjusted the cable all the way in and bent the bracket back at the reverse box so it would go into reverse, but then it wouldn't start. I brought the buggy back and they said it is O.K. and also stated that if any of the gears are stripped it is because I was shifting wrong. The plug in the tire is leaking and they won't send me a new tire. I have about 4-6 hours on the buggy, and have yet been able to drive it more than 20 or so minutes without a major problem. I can't believe that this is happening to me. What a nightmare. _________________ 87 Toyota 4runner 4x4 (built to the hilt)

yours has a seperate gear box for f/r is that right? the shifter cable and the arm thjat it hooks to may need to be readjusted.
sounds like the clamp for the carb was not tight or there is oil of some kind on the inside of the intake. _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's Atv's, parts and repairs. accessories for all makes.

I adjusted the cable all the way and even bent the bracket back at the external reverse to increase the tension on the reverse. It will go into reverse now but there is do doubt that when I pull it apart I am going to find that the first part of the gear is stipped. My contenstion from day one has been that each time the dealer adjusted the cable they did so just enough that it would go into reverse but did not have a good connection between the gears. If I was on flat ground it would go into reverse but anytime there was any type of tension it would skip and stripped out more of the gear. Now I have no more adjustment that can be made. _________________ 87 Toyota 4runner 4x4 (built to the hilt)

That is pathetic. You need to get your money back for that thing and then go to a reputable dealer. The thing is they have to sell it to you in new condition if they say it's new. If there were problems already when you were buying you should not have bought it, but I know the dealer steered you wrongly. _________________ Carter GSX150R2-10 Gram Rollers, 1500RPM Spring, Koso Clutch, Bike Speedometer, Rooftop Lights, 12V Power Plug, and Better battery
In hind sight I would have never taken delivery of the buggy. I trusted the dealer and am now paying for it. For anyone who reads this thread. As far as I can tell Glade at Edgepowersports.com is the guy to go to for Joyner and Kinroad. Beware, I know EmrockATV.com has great prices but in the end you are going to be out more money and probably some hair. Please spread the word. My only thought is that if Greg at Emrock looses some business over this thing than he will learn that he can't treat customers like this. _________________ 87 Toyota 4runner 4x4 (built to the hilt)

On the reverse....you may have one of the old gearboxes that had the defective sloppily punched reverse gearbox levers. These levers "wallowed" out easily and you could never get the reverse adjusted right.
When I changed out carbs on the mini, it kept popping off the intake. Come to find out I'd tightened the clamp too much and it was squeezing it off. I back off and haven't had a problem since.
Also, my experience with electric chokes is that you need to let the machine get to full operating temps before killing it or it gums up or something and is impossible to start the next time. At least mine was. Starter fluid was my friend before I said to hell with it and bought a new Keihen carb with manual choke. Best mod I ever made.
Not saying this will fix your problems but it might be a place to start.
which Keihen carb did you get? _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's Atv's, parts and repairs. accessories for all makes.

Keep in mind this is a 90cc 2-stroke. Sorry if I mislead anybody, It's a completely different engine, just a similar experience. Anyway, it's a PE 20mm and made life much easier. Problems with the electric chokes were so prevalent in the mini world, Eton actually started making and selling a kit to convert the carbs to a manual choke.
I was not happy to learn these buggies use them, too.
I have no problem with my auto choke. It works perfectly all the time. _________________ Carter GSX150R2-10 Gram Rollers, 1500RPM Spring, Koso Clutch, Bike Speedometer, Rooftop Lights, 12V Power Plug, and Better battery
