Does anyone know where I can find an intake manifold riser. I have a 32mm MRP pumper carb that is too big to fit on my GY6 without one. I would appreciate any your help.

Why dont you take the one you bought from Eric and seal it up at the weld that is leaking vacuum. You could do it by welding it or with epoxy like a JB weld product. The reason Eric is making them is because there is not another supplier out there. This is a new industy so edelbrock and holley arnt cranking out bolt on parts by the million. Good luck trying to find one.

I'm using RTV temporarily until I find a solution. It's not what I feel comfortable with as a permanent solution. I considered rewelding over the existing weld but I don't have the ability to pressure test it. I don't get a thrill from taking it of and putting it back on over-and-over again. Further, the flanges are so thin I risk warping the metal. That just compounds the problem with another potential vacuum leak. The flanges are only about 1/8 inch thick. Optimally, 1/4 inch thick metal is more suitable for the flanges.

I am just exhausting the options that will determine what I do from here.

I'd like to find someone who has one of those computerized machines that you program in the demensions and it cuts out billet aluminum block.

Thanks for your input.

You might, but seriously doubt you'll want to pay $100 or more for one. I know plenty of people who see something cut out in 2-1/2 minutes on American Chopper, but it's not quite that quick and easy. I would also suggest the JB Weld for long term if you cannot or do not know someone who can precision weld. Good luck in your ventures.

if you contact your local schools or technical schools, find out if there is a metal shop in any of them... The school district I used to work for had a CNC machine, and would often cut small projects out for people for VERY fair prices. They closed that shop last year and sold all the machinery to the city of Newark... Darn shame, but totally do-able!

Joun is right , some tech schools and some high schools could make one for you cheap. I did get prices on some real good ones, but they would have been over 100.00 bucks retail.

also check the other thread I posted a possible fix for you

Big,

You say you know someone who sells the riser I'm looking for? Or, someone who can make it from billet for $100 or more? Please let me know who it is. I will suck it up and pay $100 or whatever to get the right part. I am really frustrated with this issue. I cannot get my idle to run reasonably low enough without stalling. It also impacts the acceleration by making it struggle.

I appreciate whatever you can offer.

andy i know this has already been said but try cutting the length down on the air intake pipe it looks like is at least 12'' long. i think you will find out that is alot of your problem just to much draw for it at idle.
if you have another piece of pvc pipe that looks like what you used, try cutting one around 6'' long and give that a try
that way you won't mess up your paint job on that one.
just a thought not trying to be smart but there has been alot of guys before us that has been down that road on this experimenting and found out those long pipes like that don't pay off.
i know my set up is different but played with the pipe lenghts some tried 3'' 4'' 5'' and 6'' and found out 5'' is what worked the best for me,i was experimenting
that just my two cents

Hey Pud,

I cut he pipe down to 5 inches. There was no change. I'm burnt out with it right now.

a couple of questions. why not put some jb weld on it to seal it up. then do a wot run and check the plug to see if its rich.

part of the problem might also be that 32mm carb and a 145 jet. thats alot of fuel, I have seen alot of gy6 engines with simialr set ups like yours and run fine with a 30mm and about a 132-135 jet.

its just a thought.
