Finally got my parts after more than a month of being down. I broke my drivers side spindle off and need to replace the whole unit. So I loosen the castle nuts off the ball joints and they wont budge. I tried some prying, tried some pounding but that started smashing threads. Im sure a ball joint seperator would do it, but I dont have one, and besides that would definitely destroy the little rubber boots that keep dirt out of the ball joint... I dont really want to do that if I dont have too... sooo does anyone happen to know of some alternate method of removing the ball joints from the spindle with out using a seperator tool??
cant wait to get back rollin _________________ 2006 Roketa 800cc - K&N + precharger, rejetted, manual carb secondary, Desertkart spark arrest muffler, limiting straps, & lots of repairs...
On a VW, I was able to put a jack under the joint and slowly apply lift to release a ball joint. I do not know if there is enough weight to do the same on your buggy. _________________ 07 Joyner SandSpider 650

I ended up doing something similar to this, I put a scissor jack in between the upper and lower ball joints and pushed them both out at once. actually it only came one at a time but it worked great
Now I am finally rolling after more than a month of being down _________________ 2006 Roketa 800cc - K&N + precharger, rejetted, manual carb secondary, Desertkart spark arrest muffler, limiting straps, & lots of repairs...
