I purchased a set of clutch springs yesterday (set with all 3 colors) and I wondering if there is a difference between the colors? Does one color have more tension than the others or is it just for looks?

yes the red is high tension, (race) yellow are medium tension (sport) and the white are less tension (crusing).
I have the red in my 250, and have tried all of them. I like the red for my style of riding
Depending on its own geometrical and technological features, each
spring has a well defined value of load-elongation ratio (k). Therefore,
elongation values being equal, a spring that requires a higher strength,
will have a higher load-elongation ratio (k). Inside a clutch unit , springs
specifically aim at fixing the coupling point of clutch masses on the
clutch unit drum-cap, thus opposing the clutch-mass expansion
movement produced by the centrifugal force. So, the higher the loadelongation
ratio (k) of the clutch spring, the higher the rotation speed of the
motor at which the clutch unit will transfer power to the wheel (coupling _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's Atv's, parts and repairs. accessories for all makes.

Red is what I want then. Thanks.
How hard is it to change these springs and the main spring? Any ideas where I can find some instructions?

they come with instrutions but here are some
Clean with care the external area of the drive-side casing as you are
going to work on it.
2) Take the drive-side casing off, making sure that you do not damage
or lose the truing bushes and corresponding screws (Fig. A).
3) Unscrew nut 2 in the clutch cap 1, as indicated in Fig. B. Be careful,
ENGLISH
because if the scooter has been in stop for just a few minutes, the clutch
cap could have a high temperature.
4) Extract the entire torque driver-clutch unit 3 from shaft 4 (Fig. C), by
easing off the belt and by opening the two split pulleys.
5) Unscrew nut 5, paying a great attention to the counteracting spring thactions, but here are some
Remove the three holding locks 6 (Fig. D) placed on the fulcrum
studs of the mass-holding flange.
If there is a ring it must be removed from the pivot.
6) Remove the original springs that hold the clutch masses, by using a
pair of snap-ring pliers for external use.
7) Blow compressed air on the clutch unit and introduce the new
springs by using the same jigs you used before.
Assemble again by following the previous instructions backwards
also check in the forum index, there are some threads with pictures _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's Atv's, parts and repairs. accessories for all makes.

no problem, you will need a good impact wrench, and a good air compressor. be careful when taking the big nut off the clutch as it has some pressure on it _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's Atv's, parts and repairs. accessories for all makes.

Curious if any of you guys have tried drilling the clutch out to make it lighter?
As far as the big spring, once I loosened the bolt, I set it on some carpet and used one hand and one foot to keep it compresssed while I unscrewed it. I think it would be difficult to compress with one hand.
