everything was going great all day till about 2. just suddenly stoped working. i can crank and its got juice. i have spark. i have fuel. but this mother sucker will not run. my plug turns black and wet after about 3 minutes of cranking. i replaced the spark plug once after it turned black. but i dont have any more plugs to put in it. i turned the air fuel way down to lean it out but its not that, that is keeping it from running. what are the symtoms of a CDI going bad?

yeah i guess it could have been maybe 30 minutes or so when i shut it off and then tried to ride again. but no more than 45 minutes between rides. what were you thinking it could be? i guess i need to go check the fuse, i couldnt when i was there because the black box was covered in mud. its all clean now.

i think found the culprit. it wasnt the fuse, it wasnt the CDI, it wasnt the coil......i somehow sucked in sand and water into my air box and it made it into the carb. soon as i took the carb off it drained sandy brown fuel and water. i cleaned it all out but i think ill just put a new carb on there instead. what should i do about the cyl. how can i clean it out or even check to see if anything got messed up? do i need to do the whole remove the seat and pull the head off yada yada.......

I would change the oil, run it for a minute or 2 then change it again. Then you should be fine.
