The dry lake in the distance is Soggy Dry lake off of Bessimner (sp) Mine Road. We went there for all the variants of terrain, hills, hard pack dry lake, sandy trails all in one area. We loved it!

I noticed your intake has 90 degree angle. Replace it with a straight 6" piece to increase intake velocity and performance.

I was just thinking the same thing when I looked at that picture.

You'll notice a difference.

Yeah well I weigh 240 & my daughter is about 90 + top speed + a surprise whoop = the hardest bottom out you could imagine. Which is what I think broke it but since it was still running I was still on the gas. A couple hours later when my son had it out on a rather long run more of it broke & the engine finally dropped to the side causing it to throw the chain.

I know that these are chinese toys but I am still amazed at the brittle crappy tubing that is used. That will change this week at least on the crossfire so far.

While it is apart this week for welding I am going to reroute the intake on both buggies, at the time I just pulled what would fit out of the misc plumbing box for the house Laughing

Sounds like you have the right attitude about all this. I'm right behind you at 235 so I know what kind of damage you can do by driving it like you stole it at that weight! But hey, if we're having good fun then these breakdowns make for some good stories and I'm OK with that Wink

You should do the mod upgrade to your A-Arms and put in new ball-joints. The ones at BuggyDepot are the best deal around.

Yeah I know. But the stock ones are going for dirt cheap on ebay. These have lasted since the buggy was bought in '04 (?) and it took a SERIOUS hit before they broke. We are debating on whether to upgrade this buggy or sell it. My brother in law wants to see what I buy for myself first.

My dad is a crane operator and the guys he works with can fix/fabricate all kids of stuff the front bulkhead is already fixed and the top bar is straightened and rewelded but I may just buy a new one. Have to get new shocks for sure. Once the ball joints arrive we can test them out. Really if we had the parts local we could be riding today!!

Hey 1500 where did u get that trailer and how much was it?

Pretty crazy.

That does seem pretty cheaply made. My Carter seems to be built really well as far as the frame goes. My friend's 110cc no-name kart broke at both of the rear shock mounts. The bars just snapped in half. It's really quite sad. I'll get pictures of it sometime.

Psychotron

It is a Carson side load atv trailer here are the specs:

http://www.carsontrailer.com/subs/trailers/atv_utility/atv_quad_side_load/atv_quad_side _load.html

They are about $2000 new, I got mine from a guy off of craigslist that kept it in his garage & probably only used it 2-3 times. Got it for $1000.

The only thing that bugs me is that the side openings are 48.5 inches across so I can only load the Dazon from the side because the front width on it is 48 inches. Just by chance the dazon from wheel to wheel is 77 inches & so is the trailer!

I have all of the parts now & will fix them & do the welding on Fri-Sat hopefully I won't have the problems burning through the chinese tubing that I am expecting.
