Down to 2 buggies... the Hammerhead 250 SS and the Joyner 250...

I need the last final push to make the decision.

Is the suspension that much better in the Joyner?
I like the large rack on the hammerhead...
Does the 2 extra inches of ground clearance help (A LOT)
Have a 9 year old son (~5 ft) and daughter (4.5ft) and
me 6 ft... which one has more leg room?

Will be riding on open pastures, down logging trails, through the woods, and down power line trails.

I have seen, road in, looked over the hammerhead fairly well, know all the skid plates, issues with the speakers (not important), location on air intake, location of exhaust... pretty well covered it... have not seen the Joyner other than pictures on the net. One thing I am concerned about it the placement of the radiator behind the head of occupants. Odd placement but how does it affect vision?

I like the rack on the hammerhead, Joyner is nice (from what I can tell) but I can live with the Joyner if it is a better buggy.

One last question... are the engines that much different. I know the weight is an issue but a few miles per hour difference is not going to bother me... warranty issue does though.

Down to the wire here, should purchase soon.

HI cscout2001 ,The 250 joyner I took for a spin seam to have less leg room, but a lot better suspension. The steering wheel seam to sit a little high for me. The HH 250 is a little narrower if you ride tight trails. I really like my back rack it comes in handy. Didn't care for the radiator up by the rack,but I use my rack a lot to haul fire wood or a cooler. I think the radiator wouldn't last long for me. There is a big difference in front strut verses long a-arm suspension - The Joyner has a better ride. If you need a tighter trail buggy that is narrower and turns sharper, get the Hammerhead.

I do not remember what the HH felt like in the seat, the Joyner is sufficiently large enough for my 34" inseam and 6'+ height. The radiator does create a blind requiring you to use your mirrors in the Joyner, but it protects the radiator from damage.

I liked the rack option also, I will be driving on tight trails, I fit in the Hammerhead fairly easily, leaning towards the Hammerhead... I guess the optimal terrain for the Joyner is wide open spaces, sand dunes, etc.

If you are motoring through trails with the Hammerhead, (not flying through them), does the suspension beat you up that much?

I also have a parts supplier in the area for the Hammerhead.

I can get a hammerhead on line for ~ 3800.00 and have it shipped to me (no freight, no taxes). If I buy from the dealer in town, he wants ~4100.00 but it is already built. The kicker is the 360.00 taxes... that hurts.

Once the item is dropped off at my driveway, I would need to put on the wheels, bolt on the shocks, take care of the roll cage, all this seems simple enough. Anything else that I need to be concerned with? Of coarse, I will be inspecting the buggy for damage due to shipping... any horror stories out there on that aspect?

Are there any dealers that would prebuild the buggy before shipping?
