As I continue my Kinroad 150cc project, I thought I would share the experience with the forum and hopefully allow people to either learn from my probable mistakes, or hear about some of my successes.
I purchased a 2007 BMX 150cc (Kinroad Sahara in disguise) from a gentlemen who had it listed on Craig's List. His listing stated it had water in the oil and would not start. After I got it home and had it running (a fuse was blown), I found I had bought a great Mosquito Killer. It smoked up my entire street, my neighbor actually came over to see if my garage was on fire.
I Found that he had somehow gotten water in the airbox, I cleaned out that mess, changed the oil about 10 times and used SeaFoam to help get the water out of the engine.
It still smoked and after reading many posts on the forum, I figured the water had damaged the rings. Since I was gonna be in there anyway, I ordered a 155cc upgrade kit. She is now running strong and shows no-sign of smoking. It doesn't have enough low end torque for my riding area though.
We live in East TN and utilize an OHV called Windrock. Approx 86,000 acres of great off-roading. Very steep rocky terrain, so I feel I need to enhance the lower end torque to help it climb a bit better.
My next upgrade should be here in a few days... Teflon Variator with 10 gram weights, new torque springs, a Redneck Uni-filter assembly and several Jet sizes from 120-127.
When I get it installed I'll let you know how she does. Thanks again for all the great posts and advice, you guys really helped me make a decision on buying this cart. I'll try to get some pics posted if there is any interest.
Another volunteer-What a night! I had a mosquito sprayer too but it was a failed valve guide. I could put the sprayer trucks in Nashville to shame, and I haven't been bit this year.
I heard Windrock is great. Get those mods on and join us June 21 in Chattanooga to ride Prentice Cooper WMA. _________________ JEHM 150, Joyner 250, Roketa 800

Good story! After you finish with the rest of your planned mods you should have a great trailing buggy _________________ DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!!!!!!!!!

Hey ender, where did the guy live that you bought your Sahara
from? Just curious, I live in Savannah, Georgia and I saw one
on craigslist down here in a town called Richmond Hill. I called
the guy and told him he should reconsider selling his buggy due
to the fact that I need some other buggy nuts down here to
ride with. He said he would think about it, I told him about BN,
he said he'd check it out and make a decision, I've never heard
back from him so I was curious if you bought his. He had the
same complaint...water in the engine. Just a side-note...I'm
doing the same 155 upgrade for my Sahara. I have all the other
good hill climbing upgrades done already. However, I'll be adding
a teflon variator, new gates belt, probably 10g sliders, I have
9g rollers right now. And last but not least, a prodigy clutch and
bell. Then after I spend some money on my wife I'll buy
an 8 pole stator. Then I'll be done. Oh yea, new tires too! _________________ Kinroad Sahara 150,chrome intake

I bought this one from a gentlemen in Helenwood TN, I had never heard of the place, and when I drove the family up to pick up the cart, I swear I could hear the sound of dueling banjos somewhere off in the distance....

Watch the comments about the Dueling Banjos. Some of us consider that the national anthem. _________________ JEHM 150, Joyner 250, Roketa 800
