I imagine its a good thing with the proper carb and porting work. This is a good question and I want to hear what the experts say.
It does look cool though Wink

You have to be careful when buying these intakes. Most of them are 30mm and are made to fit the 30mm performance carburetor and won't fit the stock 24mm carb very well. They do make these in 24mm though (for the stock carb).

ric if you go to bladepowersports site they also say that they are made for the 30mm carb but people do use them for the stock 24mm and it works. now im not buying this one from there for 55 bucks but the pictures look almost identical. i guess if it dosent work for my 24mm carb ill just have to upgrade to the 30mm...oh darn......*turns to the kitchen* "hey baby...ummm Twisted Evil

stang i think the biggest problem you will have is the angle of it.
when you put the carb on the air filter side of carb will be a 1/4 to 1/2 hole off putting it in the cross bar on swing arm.also sets carb back a hair farther wich the carb bowl might hit the long motor mount bolt.
thats why you here of the riser a lot of guys are getting that puts you up and over cross bar.
i have the performance intake and running it without a riser but had to do some modding, doing away with rubber part of it making my own.also taking the off the plastic insulator gasket that goes under intake. it is working for me but it is one tight fit.
just thought i would mention, you might have to do some changing.

holly mud hole, this is going to suck for me then. i went ahead and ordered it. i as you know i have the snorkle box and its mounted firm in place. i dont think i can make my rubber hose off the air box reach the carb if its angled up like you say......hmmmm i wonder what kind of redneck idea i can come up with next for this snorkle intake pickle im going to be in. Idea

don't worry stanger when you get it with all the buggynews minds Very Happy
you can make it work.i just swapt out rubber part that comes with it and used a piece of radiator hose the same size so i could get the angle of carb back down some and buy doing away with insulator gasket to.when you get it you will see what i mean.

yeah i was kind of wondering why they made the intake like that. they should have made it like a 90 degree again.

I have several hundred of these aluminum intakes on order and they are the 24mm (for stock carb). Will post a picture later tonight.

way to go ric, i also saw in your store that you had a uni-filter set up on a intake pipe with hose to clamp to carb ready to go.
nice price to.
