It's all I can do to start off and make a u-turn in High. Very sluggigish also. (2006 Joyner sand viper). In low it can ALMOST spin the tires on a dirt road.
Starts and Idles great.
It has :
New piston and rings
new coil and plug
uni-filter
FMF exhaust
18 gram rollers
Blue Polini torque spring
Red clutch springs
1/4" full flow ball vale for petcock.
Tried 145 jet
and now 132.5.
Are the 2 speed transmissions bad compared to the single? Are they normaly DOGS?
Any ideas?

try the white clutch springs. the red may be to high engagement rpm for high gear. _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's, ams (manco) , joyner, parts for almost anything

There is definitely something out of adjustment on your machine. I have never had a Joyner be a "dog" as you put it. Even the 06 was a very good buggy and I had several of those. It was the first year of the hi/low range. There were some gearing changes in the 08s but that was the driven gear. It sounds as if your machine is stuck in high gear. Make sure that your variator is not hung up on something.

If you haven't already tried this check the cvt operation w/ the cover off and the buggy on jack stands. Make sure the belt is on the bottom of the variator and on top of the clutch pulley. Make sure that the belt travels smoothly to the top of the variator and bottom of the clutch pulley and vice versa as you raise and lower the rpm. You could have a roller out of position or a spring binding preventing you from being in the proper "gear" at the proper time. _________________ 05 Jehm Adventure Buggy 250cc, Torque Spring, 22.5gr Rollers, Modified Roll Cage, K&N, 21x7x10 & 22x11x10 Trac Star Radials, Vapor, Body Panels, 40T Spkt
