Thanks pud for the advice.So far the engine seems to be doing fine without a choke cable.I may not put another cable back on as it seems to be nothing but trouble,on hot days I do not need to choke the engine at all.I has a counter spring that holds the intake open,but at the same time if I need the choke this is where it becomes manual probably with using a small piece of wire to close the choke until I get the engine to start as you suggested. mancoman
