So here is the story i have a SUNL 150 that i replaced the engine in with a tj hammerhead engine on the hammer head engine i installed the bolt on big bore kit an a12 cam, prodigy clutch and bell ,10 gram rollers. 115mm variator, gutted carter exhaust, a uni on the drain pipe intake, hipo cdi, hipo coil , 1500 springand a 132 jet
I just doesnt seem to move as well as the sunl engine with the exhaust gutted, 10 gram rollers, 115mm varaitor and 132 jet with the uni 1500 spring
I figured performance would have been night and day
Is there some kind of mismatch i created in the tj engine ?
or does the sunl engine start off with that much more of an advantage? _________________ 150cc SUNL, TJ 150 engine, a12 cam, teflon coated variator 10 gram rollers, gutted carter exhaust, uni with sink pipe, 132 jet, prodigy clutch and bell,1500 clutch spring, 530 chain, perfromance cdi, high output coil, 2000 lb winch, home made lit whip.
The engines are virtually identical, so I would think something is wrong. _________________ 2005 Joyner 650 Turbo

have you got a reading on your plug to see if its lean or rich? what clutch springs do you have? _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's Atv's, parts and repairs. accessories for all makes.

umm it could be a loss of backpressure, and yeah definately get a fuel reading and check the fuel lines. _________________ raptor 250 black...stock..not for long lol
engines are actually pretty diffrent when you look at the cylinder heads, sunl small valves smaller combustion chamber,
I am running a 132 plug looks good, fuel lines are new are
clear, i have 1500 at the clutch and whatever came with
prodigy clutch, thnx _________________ 150cc SUNL, TJ 150 engine, a12 cam, teflon coated variator 10 gram rollers, gutted carter exhaust, uni with sink pipe, 132 jet, prodigy clutch and bell,1500 clutch spring, 530 chain, perfromance cdi, high output coil, 2000 lb winch, home made lit whip.
wow ray i wouldn't have thought that, reading a little on the cams you would have thought that the A12 cam would make it a real torque monster.
have you thought about putting the 39t sprocket on instead of the 31t sprocket that comes on the sunl.
the bigger axle sprocket makes it a day and night difference to me.better take offs, better hill climbing and more grunt, just a good mod all around.

im still thinking loss of backpressure?
have you checked compression too? is there somewhere around you can? _________________ raptor 250 black...stock..not for long lol

i will agree with 350mudder if you don't have much backpressure in exhaust it will kill the bottom end

so ya think it flowing to free that torque would actually hamper the performance, you can actually feel where the cam come in
there is a little stumple and then she rev like fart in a frying pan. compression why that is no problem i own my own gauge and repair Ze german cars all day every day. Note this is the common engine that i am working on not the sunl (apparently a snorkel is a fantastic idea for water). Does any one know if the cam where maybe atooth retarded would it run well but not be as exciting as you would hope. Oh yeah do you know where to get the 39 tooth gear _________________ 150cc SUNL, TJ 150 engine, a12 cam, teflon coated variator 10 gram rollers, gutted carter exhaust, uni with sink pipe, 132 jet, prodigy clutch and bell,1500 clutch spring, 530 chain, perfromance cdi, high output coil, 2000 lb winch, home made lit whip.

ray i got my 39t sprocket at reliable go-karts and also buggy depot has them .you will have to add a couple links to your chain probably.
i don't know what to tell you on the cam some one else could be more help to you then me,i'm not running one
on my sunl the first exhaust i drilled it and put a few holes in it and then keep playing with it and the more holes i drilled, it would lose a little more bottom end power.
i had broke my exhaust not to long after getting it, had it welded which i new it probably wouldn't last long.
so i was trying things to see what i would like the best.when i had to get a new one after breaking it again.this time i only put four holes inside the muffler and thats where i like it the best, seems to have good bottom end and flows good, also not to loud.
maybe the 39t sprocket is what you are looking they make big difference just on a stock buggy.
just my thoughts
