I have to replace the front spindle bolts and matching lock nuts,as the current ones tend to loosen after short runs on the trail,i fear they will seperate when I am out in the middle of no where and the front of my Manco 640L ends up flat on the ground.I need 2 bolt pins and 2 lock nuts for left and right sides. The manual list them as BOLT1/2-13x5.50 HHCS G8 ZINK and the mating lock nut as NUT-1/2-13 CENTERLOCK HEX ZINK. I feel that zink is a soft metal and more prone to wear quicker. This is where I can I could use your help, would I be better off going to the local auto parts store and try to find them in stronger metal or order them direct fom American Sport Works which used Manco Power Sports,I already know the cost 20 dollars with shipping, but I will get zink again. If I do find them elsewhere they have to match to the exact specs above. mancoman
The zinc is just the silver looking plating on the bolts. It helps keep them from rusting. If those numbers are right you need 1/2"x5 1/2 coarse thread bolts and 1/2" nuts. You should be able to get these at any hardware store for a couple of bucks. Get grade 8 and locknuts and everything should stay tight. _________________ HH250ss- aftrmarket exhaust, 300EX carb, 22x7x10 holeshots on front
