Does anyone know where I could buy a set of racing seats for my buggy. I'm looking for the ones that look like 2 individual racing seats, but in fact the inside edge is flush with the one next to it. See picture.

BIGE - Can you order a set like this from the dealer?

James,

Thanks for the info. I have seen those, but thought about the no padding factor. I see you have some like this, how do you like yours?

The seats you are after were on Ebay yesterday for $129/pair, but somebody obviously bought them. This link takes you to a single seat from the same dealer

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=china+go+ kart+seat&category0=

Follow link and then e-mail the seller your requirements - he definitely stocks exactly the seats you are looking for.

I use the seat these guys suggest, Phruby's suggestion of a little extra padding is a good idea. I discovered the trick to making this seat comfortable for me is to cut some close cell foam [ I use a sleeping pad designed for back packers] cut some shapes to fit the pressure points of your backside. I put a strip on the leading edge to support under my thighs, a piece under each cheek and a strip that puts pressure at the base of my spine. I cut pieces just large enough to cover the pressure points with some space between for air circulation. If you don't spread as wide as us "broad" boys, add some on the sides for the hips. The padding along with the cover from JEGS or SUMMIT works well. The biggest help is to use a good quality 5 point seat belt system that keeps you strapped tight in the seat. You have get the padding and belt adjusted properly so your body and the seat move as one. bouncing up and down and sliding around between the belt and seat is what causes you to feel the hits. Adjusting the belts just to the point of feeling too tight is about right. It takes a few moments to get used to but once you relax, feel the security, get confident with letting the seat, belt system and buggy suspinsion do the work, it's real nice. The only downside to this is your neck. It is the only part of the body that is not supported. Shaking around, trying to hold up the weight of helmet is hard on the neck, use a neck support also. You would be surprised at how much this brace relives fatigue. This setup along with some wrist restraints or safty nets, your set to take on anything you point at.

CKAU:
You have a really good point on the pressure point padding. I actually did the same kinda thing on my mountain bike, and never thought to do that on these. It will be great to stop the side to side sliding in the seat. Thanks for all that.

Thanks guys for all the info, This is the way to go on seats, I will repost with a picture once I have them and installed.

I got a pair of Honda Del Sol seats from Craigslist for $60 with no shipping. They fit well and are very comfortable. See new pics in my gallery.
