The stock rear fenders on my buggy lasted all of 15 minutes before I broke them off. I have been getting completely caked with mud every time I ride. Finally decided to do something about it. These are made from plastic mudflaps. As a bonus I found a use for the brackets the cheesy speakers were mounted on.

Looks great!
I.ve been trying to figure out what and how to do the same thing. I tried HH150 fender brackets. the angle is wrong and they stand out too far.
So for now i reinforced the HH250 Brackets with some 3/8" rod.
How thick is the plastic and did you heat it to set the radius?

That's a great idea. I get a little tired of getting caked with mud, too. It's just kinduva pain in the ssa to clean the seats.

I bought a couple of black tubs and was going to go a little different route. I was going to cut out about a 1/4 of the tub and mount it to the fender bracket and swing arm on each side. Once I get some time to do it, I'll put a pic on here.

The plastic is 1/8" thick. I didn't heat it, just attached it at both ends. It's stiff enough to hold itself up in the middle. Still trying to come up with something for the front, the stock fenders wont work with the bigger tires.

Great to see a dirty a$$ buggy! You need some new tires though. those stockers are CRAP! Better tires = better fun...no joke.

Ordered some Mudlites yesterday. 22x11x10 I hope they fit looked again and theres not as much room between the tire and swingarm as I thought. I guess I'll find out next week.

Others have put that size on without any trouble. You should be good to go.

Here's how my fenders turned out. My mud flap wasn't as long as I needed so I added a front and rear extension made outa that plastic from Lowes. I added to the fender bracket by welding some 1/8" steel to the end of it. I tested them over the weekend in some pretty durn muddy conditions and they worked pretty well. My left arm got hit with some mud from the back, but most of it did stay off from behind. After testing this, version #3 is going to be 1/4" steel bracket and I'm going to move the rear bolted "wing" out further to the back for better support over the top of the tire. I'll probably start all over with the exception of the part that mounts to the swing arm. Also, I'll go with a little bit wider mud flap and a bit longer. What I need is a big piece of rubber, like a rubber bed liner, but I ain't spending $60 on one. I'll keep looking. Anyway, hope this might help somebody or give them an idea.

Here's the bracket. I added about 10" to the length.

Another shot of the bracket. No welding comments please, this was only the second time I've welded anything!

This is a comparison photo showing the original fender on top of the mudflap. Quite a bit more coverage.
