I bought a riser from Mcdonough/BIGE for a 32mm carb on my 150cc buggy. Cha Ching! $29.00

What a piece of doody!!!!

The inside diameter of the riser is 1/4 inch smaller than the inside diameter of the performance intake it attaches to.

Further, the damn thing sits at an angle because the mounts are welded on the manifold tube at an angle!!!

Do not buy this from BIGE!!! It is NOT worth $29.00!!!

Anybody have any suggestions where I can find a good one?

Did you try calling Eric to talk about it? When I had an issue with a shipment, and called him, he jumped right on getting it fixed for me...

andy i don't know what happened but i think if you look at the hole dia.on head, the riser dia is the same.i know i'm running the performance intake with no riser but when i put it on i notice the performance intake hole dia. was bigger but i had no problem with that.
i'm thinking the the dia of the riser has something to do with the draw of air fuel its pulling in the engine.

It's VERY obvious that the mounts are welded far from level. For $29.00, my expectations are for good workmanship. I will ask the obvious questions next time. Lesson learned.

In the meantime, does anyone else know of another place to find a better riser?

Please call me about this I would like to know more about the mounting trouble you are having

The flange is the dia. of the head. the 30mm intake is bigger than the flange on the riser. The riser could be ported somewhat to match up to the intake. the flow from the intake to the riser acts like a vaucum and when the intake valve opens it sucks in alot more air fuel mixture than stock.

I will send ups out to pick it up and give you a full refund, just put it back in the box with my address on it and leave it where ups can get to it.

I am sorry for your disapointment, I have sold a few of these and have good results, thank you for bringing the faults of that one to my attention. I will check the others to see if are like that one.

AndyH,

not trying to tell you how to live your life, but in this case, you really should give the dealer the opportunity to make it right before you go bashing them. BIGE is not only a well respected dealer, he's been a great contributor to the site.

Fortunately for BIGE, his excellent reputation will probably prevent your post from causing any damage. We need more dealers like him, not less.

Andy, first please try to give Eric or any of the other Dealers the benifit of trying to make the purchase of any part a good experience. Don't worry Eric will make it right.
Hang in there,
Van

I guess you all beat me. If you buy something that you don't like, why not try to make good with the dealer before you bash them. Give the dealer a chance man...
