How in the heck did you get that up on the rack John? Nice packing job John. Ant problems assembling the new one? You did test it first, right? Laughing

Reading all this sucks. I am so jealous of all you guys. Have fun and be safe.

Ha! I strapped Tyler's kart to my luggage rack and then backed my buggy right up the ramp. I made a block to keep the suspension from compressing too much on my kart. I had to take his two wheels off so I could squeeze another 6 inches on the truck for the bike. Laughing Everything is on there very secure!

Yes, I tested Tyler's new kart before loading. I also made a few mods like a k&n filter and new fuel line. Actual fuel line this time. Mad I also made a custom bracket for a tach and hour meter. We also put on some skull air caps and stickers. Twisted Evil The kart is running and looks good.

Wish you were gonna be there Jamie!

Tom, trust me ...you would not have been the only one working on buggies! I spent the majority of my time there working on monkey jockey's, got his running good, and mine crapped out on Sat Evil or Very Mad ! (starter clutch came loose)(killed stator trying to get to it) Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
I am really surprised no one has started posting yet! It was a real good turnout,I have no pics to post,as I FORGOT TO BRING MY CAMERA Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Censored! Hammer That Head! . Buggies were coming apart left and right.Teamhog probably had the worst luck of all! first his frontend came off his frame got that welded back on,then he broke a spindle and had to be hauled back to camp. My dealer friend Scott's mechanic broke 2 of his sandrails, and made 1 from the 2. I think he finally got to ride Saturday night and Sunday. And a few others that I will let them post.
Now as far as a reveiw..... I was a little dissappointed with this years Bash! Not with the turn out,but with the lack of organization. To the best of my knowledge the only event's were the group photo at 10:00 Sat, (that I think was taken at 11:00)and the group ride at 4:00 that I couldn't attend since my buggy brokedown. Now there were several smaller groups that took off and did things on their own as did I.
I may be seeing this all wrong,I had fun,but I didn't get to meet all who showed up,which was just as much my fault as anyones, but it's a little hard to "come a callin" when your working on buggies Very Happy The only reason I'm aying anything is....I was not the only one who feels this way.I will let them post or not. And don't get me wrong I did have a good time,I just think we all could have had a better time!

Wetsu-

I know what you mean about organization. There wasn't any. No one stepped up and took control. I never volunteered for that job and maybe I should have. Honestly, I didn't want that responsibility. I had a hard enough time keeping track of my 5 year old. Laughing I wish I had known you were broken down. I would have helped get you running. All the guys around our camp, TeamHog, RayinKY, Erik, Johnnfazer, Funnyman, Bam, Jay, Gogokarting and many others were helping everyone we knew was in trouble. There was a lot of enginuity going on there. We all would have been eager to help you had we known you were broken.

Take a look here: http://www.buggynews.com/topic14329.html . That is where everyone is posting their pics of the bash.

John

John,I don't think that was, or should've been your responsability! I am as just as much to blame as everyone else!I do believe that for future Bash's there should be a committee,or something like that,to take charge of such events. If we can print a flyer, surely we can put together some kind of agenda that can be used for all of these gatherings. I mean how hard is to say and follow....group pic @10:00 the first full day(usually Sat),and while we have you all gathered up.... Hi my name is Mike, wanna race? Yea,circle or drag? Or no but he does!
When you all have your local rides,do you you just show up and ride, then go home? Thats what our little group does, but then there are only 5 of us,(for now)
I also think another problem might have been was the fact that we were all so spread out. I told Chris (TH) ribs were on the grill and no one came( Chris you missed some mighty good eating!!!) as did the rest of you.
Not wanting to be part of the problem I will put together an agenda for next year, and will post it,and will be looking for suggestions. I will volunteer to be on the "fun-committee".And if I have to I will step up and be in charge of said group. Then if you don't want to play(and you don't have to),then you can do your own thing, and I'm sure there were a few who wanted it that way.
So when we decide on where we will be next year....I will be ready!
Mike

Yes, I would have to agree. First of all, I had a great time, met some awesome people, and will be at the next bash. The little group I was with,(my family, Joe and his daughter, Eggyhead(Bob)) and I even discussed how nice it would have been to do a formal meet and greet. We did drive around on Sunday and said good bye to some people(Ray, Eric, Bam, Chris D., AC Blind, and a few others).

Here is another suggestion, once an agenda is decided upon, how about posting it here, AND making several copies to leave at the main ranger station, with a sign for all buggy bash attendees to pick one up for the events?
Just an idea, and yes, I would be happy to help any way I could....

I really hated that I missed the bash, but as it turned out my kids crankcase filled up with fuel I guess overnight cause when we retired for the night on thursday the last thing I done was check the oil and I had plans of leaving friday but when we started the kart in the am it was smoking out the exhaust. As I was playing with the carb adj. and cracking the throttle I took a bath in oil from the vent tube and told my son to turn it off, than when I opened the dip stick appx 2 quarts of fluid spewed from the fill hole, checked the fuel and it was almost empty.I figured I lost half a tank of fuel into the crank and the worst part is I have not found the cause of it. I pulled the carb and checked the float needle and seat as well as float level, choke, and even the vacume regulator and found no problems with either. So we drained the oil installed a new vacume regulator for good measures and started it up and it ran good but when I idled it down you could hear a slight rap in the engine and seems to be comming from the intake side so we have to tear the top half down to see where the noise is comming from, and needless to say that totally cancelled the trip. The kid was bummed but he was the reason we were so late in getting the engine in the kart. He wanted his kart painted so in mid January we tore the kart down and as agreed to he was to sand it but than something come over him, he realized that sanding was work and so he kept delaying it and when I would get on his but he would say "but it's February and the bash isn't until June don't worry I'll get it done" well it was middle of May when I was able to paint it and as it turned out the activator I purchased for the paint was for cooler weather and it was 90 deg the day I painted it so I had to sand it and buff it out which is a bugger when its tubbing. Any way I don't know if he learned a lesson or not.His mother tells him I'm just an old grouch. So its two against one. But I swear I will be at the next one with or without the kid,but hopefully with. TOM
