Monk good stuff. maybe I'll just add more light on the top like Pete, with that switch setup and everything will look stock.
Pete is the 11 pole stator for charging extra batteries, if so how is it working out. I have a cheap battery that I've keep charging. I know you said you have 3 did you have that problem resulting in a stator upgrade? Or did you know better from the start?

What is the purpose of raising the gas tank? Is it just to have room to switch over to the manual petcock, or are there other reasons? _________________ Spyder 250 (KTR-250W, or GK-29)

From the very beginning, I noticed idle was stronger if I disconnected the two 35w stock Yerf lights (other than choke, there is no other draw on the Yerf). Buggy Depot brought out the 8-pole stator, but I was greedy for more and waited for a 11-pole version.
The 11-pole puts out power to three phases instead of two like the 6-pole or 8-pole. Although the 11-pole will work with the stock regulator, you only get 2/3 the output. This where the high output regulator comes into use - It use all three phases as an input and has two outputs.
Each output can run a pair of 55w lights. I have one output dedicated to battery charging and two pairs of lights (one forward pair and one rearward pair). I can run both pairs for short periods because the 12Ah battery will make up for capacity. The second output powers the running lights and the other 55w pair of forward lights.
I eliminated the electric choke for BigE's cable choke and the brake lights run off the battery. Each circuit is fused so troubleshooting is easy and shorts or damage are isolated keeping the remaining system up. _________________ 08 Joyner SViper 250

Thanks Pete you are a plethora of infomation. As for the raised gas tank; the blaster shock have more travel and softer springs, which in turn bangs the petcock. So my tank is raised to a height that I would hit the cargo rack first protecting the petcock. I did pop my fuel filter. I thought that I bottomed out and immediately checked for damage. Fortunately no sparks were made. If you haven't seen RMB just completed a gas tank repair, I didn't understand either until my fuel filter incident.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up for me. _________________ Spyder 250 (KTR-250W, or GK-29)

my petcock actually had a crack in it that dripped very slowly. I never knew it, and I didnt know how long it was cracked for. I raised it 4" and I modified the fuel delivery.... I eliminated the petcock, braised a 3/8 NPT to 1/4 barb nipple as an outlet from the tank, and put an inline 1/4 shutoff.
John,
how did you discover the crack? I think mine was doing the same thing. I already have the piece to fix, but it may be a problem with the stock ones. Mine seemed to seep gas, but it only has a tiny bit of gas on the petcock, never dripped. I took apart the petcock, cleaned it out and still it would have a tiny amount of gas on outside of the petcock after running for 5 min or so. Never had a gas flow issue though.
GMAN - Do you still have the stock petcock on yours? Have you had any problems? _________________ Baja Dune 150

I found the crack when i was cleaning the motor after an awesome ride in my local trails... I actually hit the fuel line with the powerwasher by accident, so I got paranoild that I damaged it... So, on close inspection, I saw the crack in the side of the petcock with just a drip of fuel coming from it. I wiped it off, and about 1 min later, another drip was there and about to run... So I did this:
