family Go Karts

Does anyone own/ridden the Kasea Hawk 250 at family go karts;

I am still procrastinating about 150/250, one of my main concerns is size. I want small for tight woods trails. This looks very small for a 250. The width indicates 51.1 inches, so with slighly thinner tires I may even make into State Parl ORV trails.

Any thoughts anyone?

I have one, though I didn't get it from family go karts. I've made some mods to it and have generally been quite happy with it. Jehm, who I believe supplies Family go karts offers a squared off roll cage that you will be much happier with. I would inquire about it. The "hamster wheel" was really the only thing I didn't like about the Kart. It looks wierd, makes it difficult to get in and out, and if you are over 5'8 or so you'll be whacking your head while driving when you get joted to the left. I saw stars one time, and I was wearing a helmet! I made my own cage after that and emailed a photo to Jehm. They shot me a picture back of their new/optional(?) cage. NOW you tell me! While I like mine better I probably would have bought theirs for the convience! If you look at the photo w/ the round cage you can see how close the bar passes to the top of the seat and where your head would be. The kart is built like a tank w/ bracing and gussets everywhere. You will probably wind up replacing the speeometer. The one that came w/ mine was inaccurate, read in kilometers, and didn't last long. Other than that you won't be disappointed. It is heavy and I think you'll be disappointed w/ the 150 performance in this kart. You would do a lot of modifying on the 150 just to get to where the 250 starts. Wise man once said there is no substitute for cubic inches, or in this case cc's! As for getting to 50 inches you could probably do it w/ new wheels with a different offset to move them in.

Thanks for reply, now that I realise the different names this goes under (thanks to you), I have found loads of info on it.
It looks like the perfect buggy answer for me. Small but strong and powerful. My main riding is hilly woods trails here in Alabama, so this looks like it will suit well.
