1400 lbs is the capacity...i looked at the manual on the site..but it says maximum speed is 45, i wanna be able to take it on the interstate, 70mph. i dont think it would be that big of a deal though.

8-inch tires aren't typically rated for highway speeds. You should check that out first.

While total weight matters it doesn't have as large a factor as the speed does. Speed on a tire gets dissapated as heat through the tire.. The higher the speed the more the heat.. If the tire hits it's speed rating it could fall apart. That would not be a pretty site.

I had one of these trailers sitting outside for over 15 years without tire or wheel failure. The small 8" tires cause the hubs to rotate at a high speed causing the grease to be pushed out. Once the bearing goes dry, it will not take long for friction to destroy the axle and hub.

Prior to every freeway trip, I would grease the hubs and check the bolts. When on high speed roads, do not exceed 60 mph and stop to check hub temperature every 90 minutes.

Once a year, I would remove the hubs and strip the lubricant from the bearings and races to examine wear and repack the hubs with high temperature grease. Question

The guy indicated in an earlier post that he wants to be able to do 70mph with the trailer.

I think we've both told him it's not designed for that kind of speed.
I'd pick another trailer. Get a used one if you have to.

HF sells a 12" wheel version of that trailer. You may want to check it out.

I outlined the maintenance I performed on my trailer so Vik could see if it was worth it.

i could go 60 or even 55 if necessary, people would just have to drive around me..lol..

i have been looking for used..just cant find any under 500 and in the size i need.

the trip where i would be going 60 mph is only 45 minutes away and the other riding places i go to are under 30 minutes

This one is the same price, and has 12" tires which are highway rated. I have this one and it works great.
