My front tire is leaking at the bead is there anything I can do to fix this and how do I prevent this. I have probably ridden 200= miles with no problems. I found the tire flat this morning, ran it through some water and it is leaking at the bead.
If you think some mud/dirt is keeping the bead from sealing, let the air out, clean the bead area, add slime to the tire, and air it back up. Since I've put green slime in my tires, they simply do not leak. Good luck. _________________ Ron

Another member suggests putting a coat of Vasoline on the bead to seal it to the rim although I have never tried this.
If you break the bead on your tire to clean it, remove the valve stem insides when popping it back on the rim with 25-30 PSI. This will allow the rush of air in to snap the tire in place. Once seated, reinsert the valve innards and apply 5-10 PSI. _________________ 08 Joyner SandViper 250

Well, yesterday after spending a very long time trying to break the bead I gave up. This morning I ran down to a local tire shop and they had it off in 15 seconds. I couldn't believe the dirt and rocks that fell out. The guy there cleaned the wheel and tire then put some black gunk on the bead. He filled it and I was out of there in less tha five minutes. The best part is he did it for FREE. I purchased 4 bottles of slime yesterday at NAPA and will be applying 1 bottle per tire.
Thanks for the replies. _________________ Riding Dirty Team
