Hello all, what a great forum. I was wondering if anyone could offer advice on a problem I am having with my son's hammerhead GT 150.
While running, fuel is constantly running out of the overflow on the carb and it eventually dies.
After numerous attempts at repairing myself (i'm not mechanically inclined), I took it to a local repair shop.
The mechanic tells me it needs a new carburetor at a cost of $170. Does this sound legit. I thought maybe if its a carburetor problem, he could just repair it.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

You got either a stuck or leaking float as said before, or a bad needle/seat for float. Or a float level too high. All of which are cheap and easy to fix.

yep what they said, its stuck or got a whole in it.
is this kart new? had it awhile? problem just start?
take the carb off, take the bowl off of the carb and hold the carb eye level upside down. Float should be about level (don't remeber the spec). Take float out, don't loose the needle attached to the little wire, take it off and submerse the float and look for air bubbles. This will tell whether or not the float has all hole in it, unless it's plum full of gas, in which case I'm sure you'll hear gas sloshling around. _________________ Steele's Powersports
