Hi all,
I took the CVT cover off and from what little I can see the Clutch is ok I guess. How do I take the Clutch Bell off? The Nut turns when I try to take it off. How do I keep Clutch Bell cover from turning?
When I turn the Drive Shaft by the coupler by the Chain sprocket I can see the Clutch Bell cover turn. Also, am i going to have to take cover off gear box to look at gears? This seems kinda complex. Might there be any instructions on how to take off clutch and gear box cover? Thanks for all your help guys.

You need an impact wrench to remove the clutch bell. Some people have had luck using a friend and strap wrench.

It was a pain in the arse getting the Clutch Bell Nut removed but I did it. Now I can't seem to remove the Clutch Bell Cover and clutch even though the Nut holding the clutch bell is off. What am I doing wrong?
How do you remove the Clutch Bell and clutch so I can remove plate to check out gears behind Clutch?
The gears in the Forward/Reverse Gear Box on my buggy look fine. No broken gear sprokets or anything like that. Henceforth, I assume my problem is in my Clutch or the gears behind the Clutch??? I have attached some pics of my clutch and I took a picture underneath my F/R Gearbox because I was wondering if you all know what the small metal nipple is in front of the F/R Gearbox drain plug. Thanks for all your help dudes.
I am trying to stay motivated. Peace...

that small allan head bolt is like a set screw. it goes up and fits in a slot that is in the shift rod on the inside. if you take the linkage off you should be able to turn the end just a little both ways.
there is a lovejoy coupling in the inside of the gear box, when its in forward it is together, when in reverse its comes up and another set of gears engage. mine would not go forward and it was because the out out shaft was twisted and snapped.
the clutch bell should slide right off. blow some air in there and tapp it with a hammer. I think your trouble is in the gear box.

The bell sits on a splined shaft and should pull straight off. If you have a gear puller that can hold the bell sides, it should let go easily.

Is the Gear Box behind the Clutch? Is this where my problem is gonna be? I should be looking for broken gear sprocket teeth or something? I will try to get the Clutch Bell and clutch off again tonight.
I suppose its recommended not to jump these buggies then???
Thanks for all your help man.

I bought a Honda Service Manual for the CN250 Helix 1986-2001. i was thinking this is going to help me look for whats broken in the Gearbox (final reduction) or whatever you call it. Is this something a backyard mechanic can do or should I take it to a mechanic shop? I can't even get my Clutch Bell cover off. Is it cheap to rent a Gear Puller to get the Bell Cover off? Thanks for all your help dudes. I am tired off riding my dirt bike...

when you took the nut off of the clutch bell did it look there was locktite on the threads, that might have forced itself back into the splines if to much had been put on.have you tried a little propane torch like you would use on water lines and heat around it a little than tap the clutch bell with a hammer.that might brake loose water ever is holding it.
also i noticed in your pictures of the clutch bell what is the white i'm seeing around the holes. am i seeing things, looks like you should beable to see some of the clutch through the holes
i think a lot of guys jump there buggies all the time but you got to be out of the throttle when you come back down and don't have your chain to tight.
hope this helps good luck

The first thing i do to trouble shoot my buggy when it is acting weird is remove the CVT cover and lift the rear end of my cart ( i use jack stands to hold it but anything under the frame to hold the tires off the ground but allow them to spin will work). Then i start the buggy ang watch the cvt. I use the throtle on the carb to rev the engine. when you do this the clutch should engage. if it does then the problem is not your clutch. next try to watch the shaft that goes out of your CVT to the F-N-R box and see if it turns when you rev. If it does then your problem is not in the final gear. Next turn off the engine and try turning one of your tires. if the chain and everythin looks to be rotating ok the the problem is in your F-N-R. I am new to the 250cc and these are just suggestions but it is a lot easier then taking everything apart.
