Harbor freight has a very simalar winch for $50 with just the Winch and controller included like what you got, and you will pay nothing like $30 for shipping. In fact, if you have a Harbor freight near you they always have them in stock at my local one. I have used them many times, not a warn, but a good winch for the price...

It was showing on sale for $49.99, just check once in a while..

Hey Surge29, got my Champion 2500 lb winch mounted today on the HH250SS and it works great ready for the ride at the end of the month. Thinking about picking one up for the wifes Sand Viper, got it at SAM's for $89. It has a removable controller with a circut on/off switch where you plug the controller in.
I took the front tin off the 250SS and mounted it right to the frame cage, with the mounting bracket that came with it and 4 U bolts I picked up at LOWE's.

I'm at work tonight, I'll try to get some taken tomorrow and get them posted in the evening. Neighbors showed up and lets say there's plenty scrap aluminum. Laughing

I just bought mine at harbor freight, got it on sale for 49.99 then had a 15 % off coupon also, cant beat it for the money.Just bought a fairlead off ebay, not sure how I'm going to mount it,all the fairleads on winches I've seen are mounted on the front of winch,I cant do that without remounting my winch and welding it,and I dont have a welder so i dont want to go through the trouble, can a fairlead be mounted right under the winch and have the cable drop down and then come out the fairlead?

Try getting a couple of pieces of 2x2 or 3x3 angle iron and mount the fair lead to it. you'll have to do some notching and drilling of the angle iron for cable clearence and mounting holes. I should work, most the fair leads I've seen are mounted on the mounting plate and not the winch its self. Just make sure when you pick up the iron you get it thick enough to support the workload you will be asking of your winch.

Here we go 5 pictures of the Champion 2500lb. winch I mounted on the HH250SS. Works great and I really like how the remote works, I only have to plug it in when I need it. So let the MODs Begin! Laughing
