Add the following to your host file to see if response is quicker when the Google links are redirected to your localhost:
127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com
127.0.0.1 www.google-analytics.com

I agree with guy about the recent post scroll thing. I hate to be picky but it was much more convenient to have the non-scroll style.
