Anybody know how to do make the gtr petcock 1/4 in.I took petcock to lowes, home depot ,autozone, pep boys, napa, handy man hardware, and a place that just handles fittings. No one new the thred size(i took stock petcock so they could see size)but nobody had anything that fit the thread or knew the size.I took the parts list in past post.3/8 was too big.Any ideas.
does the petcock have the male or female end on it? If the petcock has tyhe male end on it you should be able to find a nut that fits on it or if the tank has the male end take the tank in. _________________ 2006 carter gx150llr lots of goodies

I had to go back to the gas plumbing section because the joyner has real course thread on it and they had everything needed. Ace hardware has a board at them with all different sizes of nuts and threaded rods to use as a chart. _________________ 2006 carter gx150llr lots of goodies

Would you mind sending a pic of your set up. I'm getting the 32mm pumper carb pretty soon and will probably do something similar. I'm mostly curious to see what you used for a petcock. Can the original petcock be drilled out at all? _________________ Ron

I'm going with a small inline fuel pump, bought it at
pep boys for 25.00, comes with differant size ends that
thread in each end 1/4-3/8-5/16-1/2, I'll wire it up so
it runs with the key switch on. 3" see through fuel
filter, with clear fuel hose. _________________ 05 Blade SX-550 Suzuki

Gocartacus you're right that's not 3/8 threads on that tank. It's most likely metric. I had the same problem. Here is what I did. Got a piece of hose. Clamped it to bottom of tank, added a 3/8" fitting with threads on both sides. Put a 3/8" 90. Added a 3/8" to 1/4" fitting. Then added a 1/4" shut off valve that I found for the air compressor. Then added 1/4" hose barb end, hose, inline fuel filter, then more hose to carb. All parts bought at Lowe's. Don"t forget to use some type of tread sealant or tape.
