When: Fri. Mar.21st thru Sun.23rd
Where: Meet @ my place, just North of Pasco,Wa. (pm or email me ossman@eltopia.com for address & directions)
My Goal: see if its possible to have Too Much Fun, Riding our Buggys.
Tentative Agenda (flexible): Fri afternoon 3-21-08; pghruby & I & ... gonna laod up for short haul to Juniper Forest Dunes, 3000+ acres of trails linking several Dunes, lots of sagebrush dodging, trails kinda whooped out so not real high speeds. Hope we get some rain couple days ahead, these dunes are tough (for my 150cc) when real dry.
Sat: Got a Farm Loop planned for AM, leave my place taking country back roads/ditch roads (got to have a lit'l higher speed riding) to a few cool destinations which include; smaller dunes, desert loops, on the way to some hills over looking the mighty Columbia River, some of these hills will over challenge even pghruby's 650cc. Loop back to my place (this will be aprox 40+ mi loop-might even need to pack a lit'l gas for the 150s), for lunch. Then load up & haul to a friends farm; along the river, high up on top of 3-400 ft. clay Bluffs. Looks intimidating till I lead us down a winding trail to River at bottom. Neat riding close to river & spend a lit'l time playing on hills, dirt bike trails, etc. maybe even relax a bit. Then back up the hill to a TT style flat track, we put together. By then it will have probably been a long day. But; if not too exhausted, back at my place, spark up the fire pit & roast hotdogs or ..., (My kids' fav), have a few cold ones. If still not worn out & your buggy lites work, the m/x track in our back yard is a blast @ nite !!
Sun: Open ride day at our place (track is very fun) &/or another country roads ride if anyone wants (one of my 10 yr olds fav). Everyone including myself has to work Mon. AM, so probably end up the w/end fun around mid afternoon.
This is all about Fun !! Good clean, safe, family fun !!We think there is enough variety for everyone to have a good time, no matter what you prefer to ride.

looks interisting, too bad my buggy is on the fritz, it had a run-in this winter with some other honda-civic kinda buggy, but hope to have it up to speed soon, do you know of any other buggy-ists in the north west area? perhaps closer to coeur d alene?

MudderTed and DoonRunr are in southern ID. You should search the Memberlist for others close to you. Some of us will be getting together in Pasco for Easter and Moses Lake for Memorial Day - Maybe you will be able to make one of these gatherings. _________________ 08 Joyner SandViper 250

Hey guys; Melanie & i & sons went out Sun. to pre-ride Saturday AM's planned route, for Easter w/end. Fun was had by all (this is Melanie's favorite), 40+ miles at least just to loop back to our place.
Today I had a chance to slip away from my work & took my GTR 250 up to Adams place (friends farm), where plan to ride after lunch on Sat. This is awesome (My favorite). Adam had bulldozer out prepping some of the trails he has leading down the bluffs. Its been awhile since Ive ridden this area (on my dirt bike) & had forgotten how cool this is !!! He showed me some breath taking Ridge riding (will be riding slower speeds on a lot of this, extra caution required on some of this as its a very long way down ), hill climbs more challenging than my 250cc wants, but also lots of easier hills & open space for causual buggy/4 wheeler playing. He & I working out a flat track by area where we will park, the only thing we havent found yet is The Perfect Jump. (its there, just havent found it yet ! This is gona be a great time, & we are really looking forward to it !!!

My wife and I are so excited!! The GTR is almost ready for the ride just a few loose ends to tie up. I have spent the winter doing mods and working on it. Now all I really have to do is get a #@%*&# plate for the trailer!!! Washington is being a brat about it. but I think I have all my ducks in a row just waiting on some paperwork. Over the winter I have installed a set of mudlites, did a mod on the stearing, mod on the shifter, and moved all the eletrical up on the rack. Hope to spent more time riding than working on it. I don't forsee a problem. We will be there and ready to ride! can't wait to get there. _________________ Worst case senerio: Heaven... I don't see the problem.
Dee4Lee; Glad to hear your almost ready !!
We've been busy w/prep for this ride !!! Tj (my 10yr old) smoothed up the M/X track, while I finished setting up my trailer - now can haul our 2 buggies + pghruby 2 rigs. Yesterday, I went back up to Adam's w/tractor & blade, built small oval track & bladed a cool course up & down some hills on desert propery he owns (never found The Perfect Jump), but built smaller one into this course & I have plenty of potential Air Time on my m/x. Most of Adams pl. will be slower riding, so this gives us a place to pick up the pace @ area we will park. Its been dry down here; hope to get some rain, might be a lit'l dusty if not so bring helmets & goggles. This part of ride is planned for Sat afternoon. This is gonna be great, can't wait !!! _________________ Team Farm...

Guys I probably should mention two things about this portion of our ride... first being potential for bottoming on rocks etc (shields in place to protect brake line, rotor, ch/sprocket) not a lot of this but potential; second - trail down bluffs is kinda narrow w/large sagebrush on both sides, may srcatch any fancy paint jobs. Also, will be bringing 4wh dr quad for any recovery or retrieval missions; should this be nessecary.

Your Mission should you choose accept it, is to be there & to have fun !!!
No problem with the paint. I still haven't repainted after the wreck, but I am checking on some really tough epoxys. You run a GTR right? If so a Joyner 650 isn't much bigger, well fit. We can always use some interesting navigation Wouldn't be the first time LOL. _________________ Worst case senerio: Heaven... I don't see the problem.
Derek; Yes on ride the GTR. I saw you have modded yours quite a bit. Have you had any issues w/bottoming out, that bends shield up into chain/sprocket ?? Ive had to bust out the pry bar many times to keep chain guard from rubbing, got to build new, tougher shield before our ride (this prob rather annoying)... I seem to spend almost all mod/maint. time on the 150cc... Ive modified intake, exhaust, steering, shop built fr. fenders, new irridium pl, & a lit'l rejetting. yet to mod any CVT components (as great in stock trim, for my type of riding), on my 250cc.
Pghruby probably got some fancy, high dollar paint job on that Joyner... Im guessing sexy vintage Pin-up girl (similar to what 1950s B-52 fly boys, painted for inspiration)... Scratches, scrapes, & chips the norm. for all the machinery on my Equipment List (mine is a Farm Rig; you know) !! LOL !! _________________ Team Farm...

The Joyner is stock blue. The previous owner had more toys than trailer space so there are bunch of places where ATVs were up against the paint. I did buy a spray can for touch up, but really haven't worked on the Joyner other than replacing fluids.
Before Memorial Day, the tow bar has to be mounted. This is actually harder than the Yerf-Dog setup - I have to bolt up a 3' piece of angle iron spanning the upper a-arm mounts to get a flat mounting point that does not interfere with the nose or suspension.
All my time has been spent on the Yerf-Dog lately. I have added a light bar with six lights (four forward and two rear facing) on top of the cage, running lights on the front and rear, and a brake light. I still have to construct the switch box and make permanent power connections, but all the wiring has been run and loomed. The 150 only came with two 35w headlights - I have added about four times more wire to this buggy than what was stock. I will also be replacing the electric choke with Eric's manual cable model and the spark plug with a NGK Iridium (this plug is the same size as my Honda Passport C70's, so it will also get one). _________________ 08 Joyner SandViper 250
