Even if you just replace the stock joint they are welded in the plate so your going to need to cut and weld anyhow, heck your almost there already..

I didn't realize you have to go that far to replace a joint. My original joints were held by a spring clip and the replacements bolted in without welding. That's what I get for assuming...

Yes that is how they should be, but they are welded in.

The ball joints have plastic cups inside them so it's a great idea to weld them in Shocked .
I wonder why they wear out so soon??
Another fine example of Chinese engineering..

You might consider creating a retrofit kit that would allow replacing the joint without welding. Guys with welded joints should chime in whether they would buy something like that. Even quality joints will wear out or get damaged at some point - It would be nice to be able to carry a spare that could be bolted in.
