After yesterdays snow storm I decided we would make an igloo for the kids to play in. This is what we got finished yesterday. Just waiting for it to warm up a bit to finish it today. This really brought back some childhood memories. I hope to dome the top. I hope it holds for us.

Anyone have any tips to close in the top? We are planning on doming it...

Good family fun!!!

-Jamie

I made the kids go out and stand by it so you can get a picture of the size.

Do you have some big plastic domish thing you can put on top to pile the snow onto? Then when its done you just remove it, and instant dome

I heard on the Paul Harvey show the other day about some kid making one at his house,a huge one,I think he said it was 32 feet long

Many moons ago, some friends of mine lived beside a church parking lot....They graded all the snow off the lot into a huge pile...
We took shovels, buckets, and anything else we could find to dig with, and turned it into a big igloo with escape tunnels going out the top and the sides...Sorta like a igloo fort....
That thing lasted way into the spring months before it finally melted...We even camped out in it a few nights.....
Now it seems we are lucky to get enough snow to even cover the windshield on the car....
