If your buggy is running well, ignore this, but I am wondering if you tried running a filter directly on the carb opening. I am doing that on my 250 with a K&N. It fits fine. I went to a 128 main and a 40 pilot. I drive at about 2500 feet.

I have found that long intakes, without an airbox, can create flat spots in the mid to upper range.

Good luck!

I used a 1 1/2 in. "long sweep" elbow that is made out of rubber and angled right behind the passenger seat. Bought the elbow at Lowes. It's in the plumbing section with the rubber couplers.

Do you have a pic.? I went to LOWES and tried the same thing yesterday but it wouldn't fit behind the seats. I tried for a coulpe of hours, and gave up, and put the filter back on the carb.. Confused

Sorry-don't have a camera, but I will try to swing by Lowes and get a part # for you. I angled my elbow towards the right side of the buggy behind the passenger seat. Had plenty of clearance since the carb is angled to the right also.
