I want to change over to a manual choke as my 250cc Coolster clone kart is very hard to start in the cold. I suspect it is a faulty electric choke. For those that have already done this, have you found it worth the effort? Where did you find the best conversion kit? Did you find one where the cable was long enough to get up to the dash? Please advise on your thoughts? I've also seen on the site a discussion on a carb primer. Is this the same thing or what benefit does this bring to the mix? _________________ 2006 SUNL 150B, uni filter, lifan engine, 10 gram rollers, synthetic oil, ngk iridium plug, trailtech computer/ 2007 LANCE 250cc Charger 2 Seater, shaft drive, synthetic engine & gear oil, ngk iridium plug, trailtech computer
I don't know if the carb on your 250 is just a bigger version of the ones on the 150 so I'm not real sure if the manual choke mod or the primer pump will work for you. The thread with pics & links to more info about the mmod for GY6 engines is here:

The primer pump works great. One squirt and it starts. No forgetting to close a choke & fouling the plug.
I should say though that often the problems blamed on the electric choke turn out to be from other causes... _________________ _________________
