OK, who sells these springs with the bearings???? I ordered a spring from Stu but don`t know if this is the same spring. Pic shows it with the 3 small clutch springs. Second question, are there different spring rates when you buy these??? 1500, 2000..... Seem to be a hard item to find...........why???

I can tell you the bearings are suposed to let the spring straighten back out if it get's twisted. I havent heard of any spring twisting issues so I don't know if it is necessary or not. I would like to know more about the ratings of the springs too.

As far as availability goes, Carl's supplier had 150 of them all gone and backordered, I caught James/Stu at a bad time- currently sold out, Dave only carries standard stock springs like Carter, Eastside didn't have any, the rest of the other aftermarket part sourses listed in the link section don't carry springs. MiamiMoto had one and I did look for it a few days ago, but it didn't pop up when I hit the GY6 tab so I missed that they carried it. Steve put my nose back on it so I ordered one from their web site. They called it a torque spring, why they didn't go with the Face Buster spring like we all know it as is beond me! Smile I hope it is the right one?

I don't even know if they aren't back ordered too. I hope I am not waiting on a phantom part that is weeks out? gasp.. I paid the $10 bucks for 3 days shipping so the clock is running for my install day.

Thats why I keep wondering if it's worth having and if so, it's only a $24 doller part! lets get a few ready to roll with different ratings and such. Smile

Ok guys,

fingers crossed, I am supposed to be getting in my 1500 springs in the morning, 9-15 my springs are the main, large spring, not with the 3 little springs also... I am also working on getting the 2000 rpm springs. so... if anybody wants them, keep checking my performance page starting tomorrow and if they show up again, you know they are back in stock.. I guarantee I will have them this week!!!

Stu, whats the spring rate recommended for all around use, 1500 or 2000? Which one do we need/want??? This would be on a cart with all the mods; cam, coil, pipe, filter etc. If we had the clutch upgrade you have we would`nt need the small springs, correct?

Thanks Stu, I appreachiate your action! Smile

I will probably call and get one from you for a backup plan.

What I don't understand is my buggy's clutch begins to engage at 3,000rpm and fully engaged by say 3,700rpm. Do the 3 smaller springs controll that? If so, what is the big boy spring controlling, and what happens at 1,500rpm or 2,000rpm?

I`m confused. if you have an engine that idles at 1600 rpm what is a spring rated at 1500 rpm going to do compared to a 2000 spring???? Is the clutch starting to grab at 1500rpm??? Someone please enlightlen me on this. What is a "stock" spring rated at?? Thanks

Raises your rpms throughout your cvt ratio and increasing your backshift for coming out of corners accelerating. Also increases belt tension for less chance of slippage which I feel keeps the belt cooler.Keeps you engine at higher rpms for hill climbing.
"to quote kamark"

by the way, the 1500 rpm springs came in this afternoon, so they are now in stock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not exactly clear on the 1500 rpm to 1000 rpm to 2000 rpm relation to our karts as they are rated for scooters and the rpm rating doesnt seem to match our karts , but simply the higher the rating the higher the rpm engagment...
