i have a story. Me(i weigh 130) and My friend(wieghs 180 and him on the outside) were going up my drive way going the top speed about 33. Well pulling into my house is a rally sharp turn to the left. Well with his weight on the outside and my speed we flipped it twice and since we were hunting, one of the guns got busted up. The other bad thing is that we did not have seat belts one. My friends fall out well we turned over the first time. i held on for my life. It ended up landing on my knee. The moral to this is do not go to fast or drive crazy or face the punishment. But my parents do not know yet.

Cool, now we all know and can blackmale you for the rest of your life or at the least the life of the buggy.

Let's see:

1) No seat belts
2) Guns, not the guns themselves but the safety.
3) Speeding

Dude you owe us now... We own you.

See, kids can be cool...

You do realize that you should have told the truth, right? The lesson here is that you have to follow the rules ALL THE TIME. I'm glad no one got hurt and that the only damage was to hard goods (buggy, gun, etc..) However, you shouldn't lie about things like this.

Lying is, in my opinion, the most disrespectfull thing that you can do to another human.

At some point I'd like to hear that you told everyone the truth. And of course you should be paying for all the repairs. As a matter of fact if I were you know I'd get everything fixed and/or replaced and then cop up to the truth.

In the end, you'll be a better person and MAN because of it.

You don't know me from jack, but trust me, the lying thing is a big deal. Your reputation and your self-respect are two of the only things that NO ONE can take FROM you. You have the free-will to give it up, but NO ONE can take it from you.

Now, go get it back.

Roketa hater... I agree with TH a million +1.... I just gave a student a nearly identical speach monday, explaining to him why people lie. It is because they are scared. Because they fear repercussions, or because they KNOW what they did was wrong.... And when people lie about something and get caught, the repwercussions are usually doubled... I would rather own up to crashing the buggy for driving too fast, than owning up to lieing about crashing the buggy because I was going too fast...

Only you can keep your dignity... And so far, you gave it up pretty quick to cover up a simple mistake of poor judgement.... I wouldnt drop a sled motor into that thing just yet... fix everything first, learn a lesson!

We have a "you break it - you buy it" policy. Buggy gets a flat and they want it fixed, I take it to the tire shop and they pay for the repair. They drive around all day with the parking brake on, well they get to buy new brake pads and disk. I have them buy the oil and do the oil change. I look at the buggies as pilot training. Pilots don't start out in 747s. They fly a Cessna first. I want the kids to learn that there are responsibilities involved in owning a vehicle - and I want them to learn it on something cheaper and easier to repair. If they can't handle the responsibilities with their buggies, than I won't be buying them a car when they get a license. When kids realize that no one is going to rush to their rescue every time something breaks, than they are a lot more careful. Kids will still do stupid stunts, but a lot of "stupid" acts are actually "careless" acts.

We have a similar approach in our house... We're looking for a car for my daughter and the rule is that she has to pay for half-the cost of everything (car, insurance, etc..) except gas. She has to be pay for all the gas herself. Actions do speak loader than words and they're easier to "hear".

MAN!!!! I wish i had YOU guys as perents!!! lol

I see kids all the time in districts I have worked for... You get the kid with the jalopee car who never has an accident and is always giving other kids rides, and then you see the kid with brand new nissan 350Z or camaro or whatever they get from mommy and daddy, and two weeks later they are driving a rental because they wrecked their cars! I cant count how many accidents I have seen with kids in brand new cars (even corollas), that wreck them because they just dont understand the costs, and so they get careless.

My parents did this:
You want snacks in the house other than what you got... buy it... You want a car, buy it... If you want a junker to fix up, you buy it, we will help fix it, you pay for the parts, we'll teach you how to fix it... You want car insurance???? Get your own... GAS MONEY????? FORGET IT Get a full time job after track practice and boy scouts!!! lol....

I had two jobs throughout my sophomore-senior years in HS... I worked for sears in security, and a local deli week nights...

I had to buy everything for my car, including the tires, rims from curm rash, all that... My first three cars I can honestly say, I paid and BUILT myself!!!! I had 1 major accident before I was 21, and it was a stolen car that hit me on Rt. 80... Jus tplowed into me...lol... I miss that car I was driving! lol... ANYWAY.... Every accident I have ever been in was due to someone else's negligence or stupidity, including one 19 year old in a brand new WRX STI... He totalled his car, and put me in the hospital for 2 days... His Mommy and daddy paid for my hospital bills and re-hab so that I wouldnt sue....

My kid (if and when I have one) WILL learn about responsibility young.. I hope they grow up with buggies and dirtbikes and quads.. I hope they dont get hurt, but if they do, we all learn from it.. but most of all... They will do it on their own.. When they get a car (i am not paying), I want them to have the satisfaction that they did it on their own... If I make a deal, I wont break it... But they will have to earn it!!!

TH.... Wanna go 50/50 on a buggy for me??? I'll pay for gas!!!!!

lol
